You know, SM, snow is a four-letter word just like work in my book! But, since you seem to be enjoying it...smile..
My day... this will be a bit of a catch up posting
Jetta - I went back to work yesterday and haven't found evidence of any vomiting (however if it's foam I won't, if it's hairballs I will). I've cut back on her food and she seems to be eating a bit better (hunger perhaps?). The vet finally contacted me and she said the pepcid is okay but not daily. Her last bloodwork was PERFECT with the exception of the BUN. I can have a cat scan done but I don't have $400 right now. I might take her in to be weighed over the weekend. She was 7.3 lbs last time. If she has lost too much I'll have some serious thinking to do. Other than that she is very clingy and very loving.
Dad - home as of last night. His Tri-care will cover home IV therapy and we learned how to do it today. Once every three days he will get the antibiotics (80 treatments--OY). He is very thin but ate well tonight (and needs a shave!). His spirits are much better now that he is home. We did find out that his internal defibrillator works as it has fired (the cardiologist informed us he had an "end of life event"). They will call the device company and they will come out and "interrogate?" the device (makes me laugh every time I say that!)
Sister Sandy - How she is still alive I will never know. "Worst case of congestive heart failure we have ever seen in a woman your age (54)." She is very, very, very sick and has an excellent legal case (and I don't believe in many medical malpractice but this one is clear cut - doc put her on thyroid almost six years ago and never once, not even to diagnose, did he do bloodwork. Her heart is irreparably damaged. I don't like nor get along with her however I am a compassionate woman so I was kind and did all the running around for her this afternoon (she was discharged today). Let me tell you, Costco is the way to go for prescriptions. She doesn't have insurance and four of her Rx came to $30.80. One of them (I pay the bills for my dad and he is paying her meds) was $144 every two weeks. At Costco it was $10.80. I'm moving my Rx's there!
Honey - started a new job this week and I haven't been able to talk to him much at all. I'm grateful though. He lost his job and had a new one in 48 hours. I know it's not like that for way too many people, including many in this family.
Me - I'm feeling better. Keeping food down and no more fever. I didn't get it as bad as many have. But I am tired. Worked long hours yesterday and running around and again tonight. I'm gonna read a few threads and then pop off to bed.
So... I'll take some fresh fruit and cold red wine (it's mild here today) and just try and soak up my family of choice! Thanks SM for opening the lounge!
