  1. The snow is coming down outside, TSO is on the CD player in the NS. Tonight is leftovers night. Soup and bread from last night and yummy meats, cheese, fruit and salads from the cafe. You can make your own sandwich and have a hot bowl of soup, stew or chili. Drinks are flowing freely from the fountain. Tonight's special is coffee with Baileys. The kits are sprawled all over the soft furniture and the Maine Coons are in charge of service tonight. Hope you had a terrific weekend/start to your week. Come join us, grab a bite and a drink and snuggle/scritch a kitteh!

  2. Mmmm, a bowl of chili would be nice with some Ritz crackers. I hope the Maine Coons have been well groomed - don't want cat hair in my chili! I removed enough cat fur off the sofa yesterday to account for at least 3 kittens.

  3. Just got back from the Children's Christmas Party! It was wonderful. I left all the kids at the skating rink--I have not the energy for that tonight.

  4. Yes, the Maine Coons have on "fur nets" so that the food is not furry! Sending a hot bowl of chili, side of cheddar cheese and ritz crackers to KK. SM, that sounds like a lovely time but I know what you mean about not having the energy!

  5. Good evening everyone. Afternoon KK :)
Just got the kids to bed. It was one of those busy/crazy days. Glad it's over.
SM, that sounds like fun. Christmas party..I haven't been to one in years!
No snow here yet but a tad chilly...
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It meant a lot :)
I think I am going to make some hot chocolate and have some buttery/salty popcorn and watch some TV.
Can I just say, I have been watching the movie Mamma Mia over and over again. i love that movie. That and Calendar Girls with Helen Mirren. Love that movie too.
Good night all. Hugs all around.

  6. Night CM - enjoy your hot chocolate and popcorn.
Hi SM - I'm glad you didn't try skating in your present state of health!

  7. Hi MC,KK and SM. Does it have to be cold or snowing for me to have coffee with Baileys?
LOL at the image of the Maine coons with fur nets on, would they be whole body nets?

  8. The party was enough! Santa and his Elves were killing me! The "Elves" were girls I have watched grow up! They are adorable! These kids are from the Children's Home--orphans or custody of the State. Some of these kids we have watched grow up too. The newest girl is who we have adopted. She was so much fun to be with! It was a little overwhelming for her I think. Hubby found out her favorite NFL team and bought her a hoody and a sweatshirt from NFL. Daughter found out she didn't have but a couple of pairs of socks--she went overboard 12 pairs later, and she bought her an outfit--jeans and a sweater. I went for her toiletry requests and bought her favorite shampoo, new razor, shaving cream, electric toothbrush, toothpaste, and then I went to Bath and Body Works and got her favorite scent, Dancing in Rain shower gel, body butter, and skin scrub with a scented sponge. I knew she loved white tigers, so I got a stuffed white tiger--it was 4 feet long not including the tail. She went nuts. I loved watching my daughter and all her friends dancing around with the kids! It gives the house parents a break and the kids get an evening out to socialize.

  9. Wow SM, those kids won't forget this party and Santa & his Elves in a hurry. Sounds like your family certainly gladdened a heart that really needed it. What an effort the SM's did, no wonder she went nuts. That sort of love and kindness stays with you always.

  10. When I hear stories like yours SM, I realize that the true meaning of Christmas is still alive and well. Thank you for helping these kids! CM, I had hot cocoa earlier, it was delicious. MS, NO snow needed for Baileys and coffee as it is snowing here. Two inches tonight and snow everyday this week! Hip Hip Hooray!

  11. ..HHHHeeellllooooo... dears ...(Ms. Doubtfire?)... LOL.... SM, what wonderful girls!... I love reminiscing with Daughter and her friends when they come home for the holidays!.... they came over to our house for Thanksgiving, and I loved seeing so many of them all grown up and beautiful!....

Hi KK, MS, CM, MC and anyone else still around!... just really loving this relaxing, lazy day!.... ended up making chicken and dumplings for dinner, but have bookmarked MS's pumpkin/chicken/apple dish for a later date when I can buy a fresh pumpkin!.....

... hoping everyone is having a great evening, can't wait to go the PO box tomorrow and get more of those lovely Christmas cards!.....love you guys!

  12. Daughter is out skating with the group now. We are pretty sure we will have her for Easter this year and Christmas next year. Our first girl aged out of the program and is in college. The boy that she got last year ended up becoming one of the group and best friends with daughter's first boyfriend--they were his adoptees this evening. It will be nice to be with her for more than just this Christmas!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  13. AV, my sister tried to "steal" your card! She thought it was adorable, but I was gonna tackle her if I had to in order to keep it. FF gets so excited (like a kid) to see all my cards (Christmas and Get Well). Says I am lucky to have so many people love me. I told him I am truly blessed!

  14. I'm back - just sent a terse email to the parking building where I parked on Friday. I had been intending to get cheap $8 all day parking at the sports stadium near my office on Friday but it was closed for an event. SO I managed to get into the parking building opposite my office for $15 earlybird parking. But when I went to leave the machine ate my ticket and I was forced to pay $32.50 lost ticket fee!!! So I was not happy at all - (that extra was the cost of a mojito!). Fingers crossed I will hear back from them and be compensated.

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  15. Crossing my fingers KK but I won't hold my breath. We know all about parking building vendors in NZ. A law unto themselves. How dastardly of them to come between you and that extra mojito KK.
I'm heading off into the traffic to pick Mr MS up from work, back for the late late Night Shift.
Sweet dreams for those heading to bed before I return.

  16. MC!... didn't that look totally like Cuddles!!!.. LOL

..KK, wow! $32.50 for parking!!!... not nice!..... I noticed that it costs $2.30 to mail from NZ to the US!... what a rip off!... it only costs me 98 cents to send you guys your cards!... thank you and double thank you to those NZ that send cards!.... I'm so sorry we live so far away!... ecards are totally great, we love you guys so much!!!!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  17. AV, it cost me 98 cents to mail a card to NZ. They were the same size as yours, did you include Cuddles in the card for the added postage???

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  18. DUH, re read your post, FROM NZ to USA! Dumb MC at the moment! I hate parking garages, park a day in Chicago and its between 40-55$

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  19. MC, I was surprised at the difference in postage!.....however, I think the US rates are a bargin at this point!... I sent 108 cards, of which 12 were overseas, and each for me was only 98 cents, no matter what country.... Spain, NZ, UK, or Finland (I sent Miu one - I miss her so!).... but the point is, the card, same size, etc. was the same postage, no matter the overseas destination!..... maybe other countries charge by destination, I don't know!....

  20. i had such a good time in front of the fireplace on the sofa curled up with some kittens last night at the TDK Cafe that i'm going to do it again !!! chili please with sour cream, and a hot apple cider, a wool blankie for me and at least 3 kittens, thank you. this is the life !!!

oh and a hard roll with butter, and a piece of apple pie for later, thank you !!!

Posted 2 years ago by CSBM #

  21. I agree AV! I sent nearly 200 cards and when I get cards from overseas I realize we aren't so pricey!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  22. Hi Amy and All, hope all is well. Sent cards overseas this weekend, around 98 cents too. Cheri, you take care, girl, and feel better. SM, what a wonderful story of your adopted kids, and what a wonderful difference you made in their lives this Christmas. KK and MS, good to see you both, miss you alot of the time. KK, sorry about the parking fee, I hope you get your money back. Not fair! AV, good to see you too. CM, enjoy the popcorn and movie, and a happy belated birthday. (mama bows head in shame for missing the day)

MC, how are you feeling? I hope you are continuing to improve and no more complications have set in.

Cookie weekend here, Kay is up to over 600 cookies, we should rock out at about 1200 as usual. We still have 3 weekends to go! Every year, I won't make as many. Every year, the same!!! Family and friends enjoy them, so what are you gonna do!

If I don't get back, everyone have a good night and a good day tomorrow.

  25. Sorry to have missed you, Lynn, CM and SM! Sweet dreams.

Hi, KK, MS, MC, AV and Cheri.

Quiet day here. I've been kind of dragging my feet on getting into the Christmas spirit, but I think it's coming. Started on my Christmas cards finally!

  28. Evening all! Just plugged away for 2 days straight and got all my christmas cards done. Only breaks inbetween have been to eat, potty, play with the fuzzies or in Saturdays case to take Max and Mystie in for Tushie shaves. Mystie did a bit better then last time hehhe but wow can she spring, jump, twist and be outta town in a blink of an eye. A few scratches I have but none broke the skin and we got her butt completely shaved all the way down this time like we do with Max. She looks so funny now when she walks with her tail straight up. I continue to expect to see the furry britches but none are there now.

My babies have taken to the heated bed I bought max last year so they stay nice and toasty warm.

  29. Goodnight all! I am off to bed myself. Snow is coming down, AZ is crushing Minnesota and FF fell asleep on me when we were talking. Guess those are signs to shut down for the night. Sleep tight, see you on the flip side!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Hi, M2M!!!! Good job on the Christmas cards. I saw the photos you sent of Max and Mystie. Mystie is BIG!! She is magnificent. :)

Goodnight, MC. Sounds like a perfect evening.

I'll say goodnight too. Sweet dreams!!
