My next door nighbors have these two cats named Trigger and Shadow then dont let the cats inside there house so I feed them but I am worried about them in the winter time do you think I should take in these two cats?

Might want to ask your neighbors first, and second, if you can afford it and they agree, it could work.

I agree with AzDeb if neighbors don't agree I would provide them with a sheltered spot to get away from the elements--into a garage or shed if possible and when temperatures drop really low let them come in if need be. The Cats might choose to stay with you and then what can you do. Cats are well known for doing their own choosing

!!!! LOL, Sandi can't believe you think that CATS have a mind of their own....no way, yes I do agree with you there about them doing their own choosing. Probably why I like them, they decide what the feel like doing, when they feel like it ;P

Many years ago, I provided shelter for a feral colony. This was before any local agency had assumed responsibility for cats; Animal Control was responsible for dogs, and that was it. I was living in an old house with a large, covered front porch. In the wintertime, I cut a hole in a cardboard box that was sealed on all sides. I set it on the porch right against the wall of the house. I placed the box on a small rug and draped a second rug over the top and sides for insulation. Each morning I looked inside the box and saw a solid mass of black fur with one white lump (the ferals were all black and one white cat had taken up with them). Once, I put my hand inside the box, and the air in it felt positively toasty. I guess that's what happens when a bunch of 101-degree bodies come together in an enclosed space.

Eileen, I can just picture that box! And how happy the ferals must have been to have such a snug shelter.

BabyGirl, are these cats strictly indoor cats that have now been placed outdoors? If so, you'd be doing them a service to take them in; the learning curve for living outdoors is very steep, and mistakes are often fatal.
Are they fixed? Do they appear to have winter coats?
On the other hand, if these cats are living outside, being fed and vetted properly by their owners, I'd not interfere except to set up a sheltered, dry (off the ground), insulated place in your yard that would fit two cats comfortably snuggled together. That, plus putting out a bit of dry food twice a day, and making sure there's a heated dish to keep water available even when it gets below freezing.

The cardboard box nest sounds like an excellent compromise to me. Of course it depends exactly how cold it normally gets wherever Iloveboots lives.
