  1. I could use some sugar cookies with lots of frosting.

And a lapful of sweet kitties, please. I wish I hadn't had to get out of bed today.

  2. Cheri, I am healthy as a horse. It's just a luck out for me, I guess. My grandmother was the same way, so I guess I got it from her (she lived to be 98).

  3. HM, I am the same way with beef. If I don't eat a lot of red meat then I easily slip into anemia. I am one of the few people whose doctor asks if I am eating enough meat. Oh yeah and I am good on the blood work as far as cholesterol and triglycerides. I do have high BP but it is more genetic and so far doesn't have a link to what I eat or don't eat. Salt or no salt it doesn't budge. Didn't budge when I cut out meat and went mostly vegetarian (hence the anemia) has never been affected by other meds. The summer my dad was dying it went through the roof and I didn't know it until after dad passed. I went from someone whose BP occasionally spiked under stress to someone whose BP is permanently high. Grandma and dad had the same thing.

  5. It's what's for dinner!

Just to share here is a good marinade for steaks.

This is great on any steak that is to be broiled or grilled.

Smash and finely mince two cloves of garlic and
put them in a small bowl with a couple of tablespoons
(3-4)of extra virgin olive oil. Then add a splash
of lemon juice, a couple of tablespoons of balsamic
vinegar, marjoram, fines herbs, lots of freshly ground
black pepper and a dash of lemon pepper.

I used a mortar to really smash up the garlic, but you could
use the back of a table spoon just as well.

Coat all sides of the filets (or other steak cut) and let them sit for
an hour. (If using a london broil or flat iron steak let marinate for more than an hour up to overnight) broil or grill steaks to doneness desired.

Sometimes I will top with butter, blue cheese or a bluecheese compound butter.

  11. I know that eating too much meat/pork isn't a good thing but there's nothing I like better than Bacon, Country Sausage (made into gravy or not), and a good old fashion Chuck Roast w/ the vegies...mmmmmm....But all things in moderation..it's ok though....my budget moderates all that stuff!! :)

  13. Did I ever mention to ya'll that I'm the world's biggest Klutz? It's true. Sober (which I always am) doesn't dictate grace for me by any means...Too bad..as a child I always wanted to be a ballerina! Life taught me you gotta have a back-up plan...I'll devise it anyday now...I just know it!! Tee Hee

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  16. Karenopa I too am a klutz. It's a left-handed thing, I think. I could step on a strand of hair and trip over it.

  17. Hey Karen, don't go! My son just dropped by.

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  19. HM...so glad to have a 'Klutz Sister'!!!! Whew...sometimes it's lonely down here on the floor! :)

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  20. :)

I have broken my big toe so many times that if I break it again, they'll just take it off. It has no feeling in it. I can't name the times I've seen bruises on myself and wondered how they got there. THEN I remember that I'm always bumping into, running into, tripping over something. *shrugs*

((hugs to my Klutz Sister, who also happens to share my first name))

Posted 4 years ago by HuddysMama #

  21. No Karen but almost! He is 20.

Posted 4 years ago by Catwoman #

  22. Yeah...HM..My knees and toes are a wreck! At least I think I still have big toes..who can feel them!

CW...20 is close...is it close enough? I don't know..So young and vibrant..It's an age I imagine would be worth preserving the vibrance a little longer...but Mom knows best!

  23. I let him go off in my Jeep to pick up my photos from Walgreens. Probably for the best that he not drink anything~!

  24. CW..I sometimes wonder (I'm verrrry old...almost Maxine Old) what condition my condition would be in if I'd abstained from the many EVILS that lurk within our society...I do try to stick with.'All things in moderation'..

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  25. But Karen, what use would a long life be if you miss out on all the fun???
All things in moderation works for me too.

  26. However...there was this time...in the 70's..when I went to an Eagles Day On The Green in Oakland, Ca....How do you NOT fill your Boda Bag to the top at times such as these??? :) What pictures???? Something we'll see in Catster? I wish I had a digital camera. Had one once, gave it to my son and never saw it again! Kids!

Posted 4 years ago by Karenopa #

  27. Wait a minute!! If he's picking them up..then they're not digital..oh well, I'm slow but sure.

  28. I had pictures made for those who will be receiving Christmas cards but are not online for me to email them. Yes, there are a few people still living in the dark ages without the internet. ;-) I am planning to email the pic to my online buddies! It is my family at the beach from October!

  29. That's nice...looking forward to seeing it.

  30. Just stopping by for a moment. I know that there are so many others right now worse off than myself, but, I need to vent before I do a Britney & shave my hair off or lay it on the train tracks & let the train cut it off. Beforing retiring last night(extremely tired) I noticed Rusty & Spunky unloaded alittle more than usual in their litter box. Too tired to clean it,I replaced it with another I had set aside for just this purpose. One they used when they were younger.First thing this a.m.I poured my java, noticed litter box dumped over.Did I mention I spent 5 hrs.the day before moving cages & furniture around to accomidate cats.Set java down, cleaned cage,floor,etc.(1&1/2 hrs.). Java cold, reheated.Proceeded to wash cat dishes, fed cats, cleaned litter boxes(2 hrs.).Java cold, reheated again.Kittens going crazy, stopped them after lamp busted, cleaned up mess.Java cold, reheated again.Got online to thank those whom I recieved cards from yesterday, stopped kittens from roughhousing.Java cold again. So I just drank it cold. :(

    Thanks for letting me vent
