one kitten "helping" another kitten during coughing

(4 posts)
  1. One of my kittens (about 6 months old) frequently coughs after he drinks water. When this happens, my other kitten (about 7 months old) jumps on top of him and bites his body in various places, including his neck. Is this normal behavior? I'm wondering if the older kitten thinks he is helping the coughing kitten? Is this normal cat instincts? Just curious!

  2. I've never seen a kitten do that, but it sounds like the other kitten is seeing the coughing as an indication that the coughing kitty wants to play or something.

  3. sweet.... maybe your 7 month old kitten is annoyed with your other kitten because hes coughing too much. Maybe he just doesn't like the sound of coughing.

  4. If either of my cats starts hurling a hairball, coughing, sneezing or crashes through a box of papers, the others come to investigate and seem to act like they are concerned for their sibling. Doxie and Kizzie do this often for each other. They get rough and tumble but if someone looks injured the other makes sure all is fine and dosnt continue with rough play.
