In the spirit of the winter holidays, I had the TDK Roller Rink main skating surface fitted with a waterproof liner, then I flooded the liner and froze the water; now there's an ice skating surface that's a foot thick (so as to be safe enough to skate on). The learning surface is still polyurethane-covered wood, and can therefore be used as a roller skating surface.
Now, breakfast: I have cinnamon rolls, gingerbread rolls (sweet rolls with gingerbread spices), croissants, maple-flavored bacon, chicken/apple sausage, steak (not filet mignon, but a more economical breakfast cut), pumpkin spice donuts with icing and sprinkles, eggs, oatmeal, brown rice, Cream of Wheat, fruit salad, coffee, tea, hot cider, and hot chocolate at the snack bar.

Good morning, Vicki!
I'd love a cinnamon roll and some hot chocolate - yum!Can't wait to get out of work at one. One of my co-workers wants to get her kids a puppy for Christmas, so I'm going to stop at Petco and PetsMart after work (it's much closer to where I live) and see if they have a puppy for them.
I have more Christmas shopping to do and have to get more stamps, too, for the rest of my cards.
Tonight, if the weather cooperates, I'm taking GG to a park where they have a huge Christmas light display. I've been there a few times, but he's never been. Should be nice. -
Betty and Wilma are bundled in their finest hats, mittens and scarves in red and green. They are all glittery and festive. They are gonna make a quick detour thru the wormhole to Las Vegas to pick up their friends Lydia and Fiona from Beth's and will be tumbling thru soon! Thanks for this, my girls need to get out, they have spent too much time with meowmy lately since my surgery!

I have to say I saw the cutest thing yesterday, I was so upset I didn't have my camera with me! I was cutting thru a condo community when I saw the cutest thing out of the corner of my eye. There is a small pond between buildings and out there on the frozen ice was a big fluffy calico kitty. It was "ice skating" on the ice. It would run and then let itself slide. Then it would run again and slide! It was actually doing it on purpose and having a great time in the process. What a great picture that would have been (thinking lolcats here!)

I'm just here for a minute; Mr. K was generous enough to pass on his nasty stomach bug, so I spent the night in the bathroom and still feel awful. As MC can attest, barfing is no fun with a delicate head, so now on top of everything else my head hurts.
No food for me, thanks, I'll just go curl up on the TDK comfy couch and try to sleep.

Abby and Cuddles have been jumping on Momma all morning trying to wake her up!....." it's an ice skating party, please, please get up we want to go "!..... Momma FINALLY arises and helps the girls into their warm clothes.....Abby has an ice blue outfit, trimmed in soft white faux ermine - it frames her little face, and matches her bright blue eyes..... Cuddles cannot decide what to wear - her mumus are all to thin & cold, and her warm clothes from the past few years are too tight..... she finally has a flash of brilliance, and decides to wear Momma's "snuggie"...and swattles herself in it..... Momma packs their skates and snacks in little back packs and kisses each girls head as they run to the worm hole.... she has sent a large box of salmon cupcakes for the party, and *waves* to everyone in the cafe as the wormhole opens and the girls SWOOSH through

Thanks, GD and MC. I'm so frustrated, today is the first day of my week off and I had things I needed/wanted to do, but I'm just lying around overwhelmed with the desire to do nothing at all (but I made it in here :) )
Speaking of lying around, I think I'd better go back to that, my stomach is feeling rebellious again. Have a great party, all.

Spice jumps up and down on Cheri's back to get her up and tell her her about the skating party. Cheri nods yes and helps Spice into her skating outfit. It is Christmas red with a white fur collar, cuffs, and hem. She looks adorable. Spice swipes a piece of mistletoe and pins it to her outfit. Cheri hands Spice a package of catnip cookies to share, and Spice runs for the wormhole entrance, which is just outside the apartment door. Cheri wishes Spice a good funfilled day...

Found out this morning that my brother's MIL was killed last night. She was struck by a car as she crossed the road to get her mail, it was a busy highway. It is such a tragic accident. :( Sending hugs and get well wishes for those who need them. -

Thanks, it is a shock.....they feel so bad for the woman who hit her, as she is also a local and her kids are friends with the victim's grandchildren. Think of the poor woman who has to live with this. She said she just didn't see her, it happened at 5:00 pm. It still doesn't seem real. Life is strange, there are no guarantees and life is so fleeting.

Just checking in as my back is out and wanted to say hi. I see all the sadness today with the furbabies and Katthays family loss. I'm just all tears right now. Jetta is going to come through the wormhole solemnly and spend some time there and honor the furbabies and the gentle human lost in the last 24 hours.

Oh Katthays, I am so sorry about your loss and your brothers. It is so hard at any time much less this time of year. My grandpa was walking home from work around Christmas when he was struck down by a drunk driver. He got pinned under the car and was drug about two blocks. He died the next day (Dec 22nd) in the ICU. The entire event was witnessed by a policeman who was in a parking lot. To this day the guy (who was SO DRUNK) doesn't believe he did it. I never knew my grandpa as he was killed ten years before I was born. I can't imagine living with something like that your whole life. Prayers your way.

Thanks 2Pop. Glad your tree is up, I bet it is pretty! Gizmo has been very good this year about leaving the tree and ornaments alone, however, he is attacking the wreaths, Santas and Elves that are sitting down on the fireplace hearth. I noticed the other day that part of Santa's beard was lying on the floor :)
