  1. There are mince pies, mulled wine, Stollen, cheese straws and other festive nibbles. The kitties are singing carols as they hand aound the goodies and the tree is covered in the most beautiful real wax candles.

Come and join us round the tree

  2. Afternoon PM. Beautiful tree :)

  3. That's a beautiful tree! Today is a marvelous day, wherein Glenn and I will spend most of the day in holiday prep activities, taking his children out to see a movie, and celebrating our first year together. Life wasn't bad before he came along, mind you, but my life has gotten better since he arrived. We think we may be in this relationship for the long haul; the prospect makes both of us smile.

  4. And on that note, I have to run... hope y'all have a great day!

  5. Morning to CM and Good Afternoon to PM. It is a beautiful tree, for sure! CM, it is SO hard for the little ones to wait for presents! Some adults aren't much better :) Catching up on threads, too many deaths, I hope the person/persons who killed the son of Deb's friend, will pay for their crime with THEIR life/lives. Too many tragedies in this world! The Stollen looks wonderful, I'll grab some on my way out! Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

  8. The tree is outside my Church and the photo was taken by a fellow chorister.

  11. I will have my own Stollen bitte sehr! Danke Schoen! I am saddened I didn't get to go to the German Christmas Fest held each year in Chicago. It is REAL German Food by real Germans who fly in each year just for this. It is so much fun getting to "practice" my now choppy German. They are so sweet and patient with me and always give me a few pointers. I feel at "home" when I am there. Gluhwein makes the subzero Chicago temps melt away. I always get some of about every kind of German food and go home stuffed (or should I say roll home stuffed). Oh well, FF ensures me there is always next year (does that mean he plans to be around next year???). We are to get snow today and a blizzard on Christmas Eve. I am getting nervous as I return to work tomorrow, part time. So many employees have been calling telling me how happy they are I am returning. I am just scared as my boss already emailed me to tell me its a HUGE mess (she left) and I need to clear it up before the end of the year. We have to finish invoicing and close the books. YAY! I think on that note could I please have a steaming mug of Gluhwein??? A nice big Calico to love would be great too!

  12. Glühwein and Stollen on their way to MC served by a large carol singing Calico.

  13. Morning MC, ok yay on returning to work, nay on the HUGE mess you are being left, there is always next year for the German Fest (love them myself), and a big Calico is on the way and maybe it will be the skating one mentioned yesterday! Oh and its great that your co-workers are happy you are returning :)

  14. Usually I go to at least once Christmas Market in Germany - it's only about 6 hours driving from here to the nearest ones. But I won't be able to go this year :-(. As FF said MC, it'll have to be next year!

  15. Yea, considering he ended up with about $15,000 damage to his house from his water pipes bursting. He has three other leaks but isn't going to deal with them until spring. He shut that water off. He has one of those "lap" pools in his basement and it is in such bad shape, he is gonna wait until spring to address it. He gets new floors, carpets, walls, and appliances but like he said, he would rather have done it at his pace. Now he has to rush around and get things done because insurance is paying. Oh well, I guess we all have our crosses to bear don't we?

Yum, that Stollen is ausgezeichnet! (spelling may be wrong there). Gluhwein is warming me up and the Calico can SING! ME-OW!

  16. Sending you positive wishes for your return to work, MC, and BOO HISS to your boss.

Deb, I am so sorry about your friend's son, what an unspeakable thing to have happen, especially at this time of year.

Mr. K and I are still feeling cruddy; he's actually going to the gym now because he's getting cabin fever, but I'm basically hibernating.

  17. Kilroy, thanks, the only good thing is he died trying to save another person.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  18. Hi Kilroy sorry you are feeling icky. Question for you; do you ever feel like the covering over your brain is "on fire"? Or as a fellow Chiarian put it, like someone put a hot iron on your brain? I know its a crazy question but all my fellow Chiarians have it, wondering if you did???

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  19. Hi MC, nope, can't say that I've ever had that feeling, and wouldn't want to, yowch!

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  21. Morning all!... *bows head in slience*... for all those hurting and mourning.... PM, did your daughter make it home safely? Mine did, as did Hubbs, now just waiting on Son!.... The winter storm that hit NC when they were up there, was the worst in the century they said!..... Actually cool here (59) today in Tampa, but I love it!.... makes me finally think of Christmas!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  22. HEY! You switched your name to just AV! What is with that??? Glad family is home safe!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. Morning/afternoon all! It's Monday here - yuk. But I only have today and tomorrow to work and then I'm off north up to my mother's and MS's. I don't have too much work left to do and I think i am organised. (there's an invitation for disaster!).
Kilroy, sorry you're feeling cruddy today. Deb, so sorry about your friend's son. What a tragedy.

  24. KK, did you find things to make?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  25. Hate being tired and not being able to sleep, oh well at least I do have the chance to wake up. See that everyone is safe thru the storms, may be messy but at least safe.

Waves Hey to KK, MC, AV, and anyone else up and about today.

PM, that StMarysTree is just beautiful :)

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  26. Hi! Sorry you can't sleep, I know all too well about that!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. Yeah Abs, when did you change to AV? I all. Just popping in. Still doing Christmas cards, etc. I'll take some cocoa and any bread pudding around? Hubbs is making a spiral ham for dinner. Yum. Have a great day everyone!

Posted 2 years ago by SammyandOliversmama #

  28. MC, yep you do belong to the 'can't sleep' club! I have to admit, with all my migraines and nonsense, I have never felt like a hot iron was on my brain. Have felt at times like cutting my brain out but never that feeling. I so keep hoping that this last surgery of yours works just great and does good things, like fix most if not all of the problem.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. Hi SOM! How have you been? I know I am still finishing the last of my Christmas cards. I was sure I would get them all out BEFORE surgery but didn't. Recovery has not been the best so they have sat. Guess I gotta ramp it up, Christmas this week!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Ok, I am heading to SOM's house, I love spiral ham! Could become a vegetarian except I have a ham disorder, really that is the one meat that I love.
