The kittehs, complete with their elf outfits, have catered Panera today along with some of their own experiments (there's that yummy gingerbread smell again!). The cafe is festively decorated, there are big ploofy chairs by the fire, and agency kittens looking for snuggles.
Slippery ride down the mountain today.
How is everyone?

Good morning, Joan! I'll take a big steamy mug of chai and tons of gingerbread cookies! Gotta love these virtual feasts! Did you get snowed in?

Good morning, Joan! The cafe looks and smells wonderful. I think I'll help myself to some warm gingerbread and a cup of tea.
I am off work this week (YAY!) and am actually feeling a bit better today. I'm not going to push it, though; I did a handful of minor chores this morning and now I'm pooped and sore again, so no more chasing dust bunnies.
Our street is still partly closed off after a sewer explosion last night. It was pretty dramatic, we could see flames shooting up out of the sewer grate and heard several big booms.

I stayed home all weekend and loved it! I think the last of the cards are done and will be in todays mail. We got a lot of blowing snow so I'm not sure how much we ultimately got. It drifted down to the ground right under the birdfeeder, which was great for the birds that Leela loves to look at and chatter with. It's really icy today, though. Got partway down the mountain and had to turn around; an acccident closed the road.
Sewer explosion, eh? Yikes!Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Good morning, all. Please be careful driving on that mountain, Joan!
Kilroy, how scary with that explosion!I had a nice weekend. Saturday I went with GG to the park where they had the light display. The line to get in was crazy and once we got in, there was a problem with the power and a lot of the lights were out. So, all in all, it was okay, but not as nice is I was hoping for.
Last night we drove around several neighborhoods and looked at Christmas lights and listened to Christmas music on the radio. That was a nice experience.I have some running around to do today and am starting a dog-sitting job also. Since it's cold here, I just want to curl up with a blanket and my book.

GD, we used to do that as a family growing up; 5 of us kids piled into the station wagon and Dad would drive us around town to look at the lights. So much fun!

I love doing that, Joan. I used to take the triplets I was taking care of and drive around and look at lights, too. It's so nice :)
I also went to PetsMart on Saturday - and fell in love with a little orangie. He was probably about 4 months and there with his diluted orangie brother - reminded me of Marsha's Chester and Dusty. They were both so sweet - purring, kneading and flopping over for belly rubs :)
-
Kilroy that sounds scary! Glad things are ok now though.
GD that sounds adorable :) We went to petsmart over the weekend too to pick up litter and there was the cutest little tuxedo cat but he had a random little black cow spot on his chin and I fell in love with him.
I still haven't gotten my Christmas cards out. Ugh. I hope to get some in the mail today. I have to go buy stamps first.

Hi everyone!
Just finally got a moment to stop in. Been busy with the girls.
everyone in the snow affected areas, please stay safe and warm. I heard another storm is coming though. Not good.
Almost lunch time here...the girls are off the hook today for some reason. Can't wait till their nap time :)

NNGM, it's not just Americans who gain weight over the holidays; celebrations throughout time and around the world have featured large amounts of food. It's just more obvious among us due to our bounty (and our haphazard eating habits). I'll have some gingerbread and hot chocolate, please.
-
Oh, GD those kitties sound so sweet! I would have had a hard time walking away, too.
Mr. K and I are about to have lunch, so of course now my stomach is starting to feel yuck again :(
George was bonkers today, running around with his mousie toy for HOURS. He's finally worn himself out, silly cat.
-
Silly George, LOL! What fun to watch him, though!
Not such a busy cafe today. I imagine everyone is very busy. I'll be leaving tomorrow for my niece's then on the next day to my son's. Don't know if I'll be on any at all while I'm gone. Just want to let everyone know that I'll miss each and every one of you during the holidays!
May everyone have safe travels no matter how near or how far and wonderful memories of the holidays!Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

Hi there! Home from my first day back to work. Everyone was thrilled to see me and I hate to admit that it was good to see all them. Boy, what a hornet's nest I walked into though. I could have stayed there for days and still not had put a dent in the mess left for me. Could I have some Vermont Cheddar Mac n Cheese along with some black bean soup and a big fluffy kitteh to snuggle?

LK, have a safe and wonderful holiday!! We will miss you.
MC, so glad you survived..but remember, take it one day at a time. that's all you can do. Glad you are home though.
mmmmmm Panera....I could go for them right now. Wished they delivered.
Girls are napping. Going to the couch to see if I can get a nap in too. They have been down for about an hour, so I pray they will sleep longer!Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Yay MC! I'm so sorry they left you a mess, though, that stinks. One day at a time, sweetie.
Well, so much for wearing himself out; George got intrigued by Mr. K's olives that he had with his lunch and came to investigate. He ended pushing the deli container around the floor and licking the outside of it. Now he's back to mousie chasing. Silly cat (but darn cute).

Oh dear - I have just learned a lesson the hard way. You know that sort of organic peanut butter that has an oil that you have to stir down into the peanut butter? Well...... don't use that for peanut butter cookies. They come out awfully dry, although Mr. WWM gamely ate two. Then I saw him rushing to get a drink of water. :-(
