Leela will accompany mama to the cafe today. She has been baking all night and will contribute mini cakes, pastries and cookies to the awesome setup that the agency kitties have already prepared. There's that wonderful gingerbread and cinnamon smell again. She wants to visit with the agency kitties who she has gotten to know at the roller rink. Mama is a bit down because a week from today will be 5 years since her Dad went to heaven, the human version of the Bridge as Leela understands.
In that spirit, Leela would like to remember all the kitties who are having their own Holiday parties at the Bridge and the human friends who visit them.
I am sitting with a baby Maine Coon who looks a lot like Jiggs by the fire, sipping a hot cider with a cinnamon stick. Come on in and enjoy!

Good morning, Joan! And Miss Leela, how nice of you to join us. Please be extra nice to your mama this week and give her a hug (translation: headbonk) from Kilroy and George.
I think I'll join you in a hot cider, Joan; like yesterday morning, my stomach is OK so far today. Hoping it doesn't go downhill around noon like yesterday.

How sweet of Leela to take care of meowmy! This time of year especially, brings to mind our loved ones who are no longer with us. Hot cider does sound good this morning. Hope your stomach settles down, Kilroy! My Daughter had a bad intestinal flu and she upchucked for 3 and a half days. Talked to her yesterday, and she finally seems to be on the mend. Hugs to all who need them this day!

Special thoughts for loved ones at this time who have passed. My sis Sue's birthday was on Christmas...always think of her now with fondness. Good morning, Everyone! I just have a minute but had to peek in to see what y'all are up to. I have an appointment this morning for an echo-cardiogram because they are still trying to figure out why I blacked out the other night. And then *horrors* I have to make one last trip to the grocery store. I'm dreading that because school is out and it will most likely be a zoo.
It's just me and Mr. WWM for Christmas dinner, I think. But this is what I have planned:
Crispy Parmesan chips to munch on
Roquefort Pear salad
Prime Rib with popovers
Twice baked potatoes with Havarti cheese and caramelized shallots
Green beans with orange essence
Eggnog pie

Good Morning Joan, Kilroy, Katthays, Siobhan, CM, AV, and WWM. I am home today--finally. I have spent too much quality time with my doctor. Surgeon found another issue--basically unless it will kill me I refuse to deal with it until after the holidays--he assured hubby that is quite alright. He wants my immune system boosted.
Going to build a fire, clean the house, and wrap presents!! I have all my furry assistance ready! Deuter and Teaser are on ribbon and bow duty--for personalization of course! Lissy and Kasey are content to watch and supervise! Sherlock has to sniff test everything!!!!

((SM)) Lol too much Quality time with your doctor. As long as it will make you better it's worth it.
What a fun festive day you get to spend. I love those days. Scritches to the SM crewPosted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Morning all! I finally finished my Christmas cards! Most of you will get them after Christmas, but better late than never! I did get some out last week, but not a lot of them. We did a pre-Christmas dinner with my mom last night. Gingerale baked ham, mashed potatoes, lima beans, fresh fruit salad and for dessert the most yummy cookies in the world, from my husband's grandmother's recipe.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day today and is ready for the holidays.

Good afternoon everyone! WWM, can I come to your house for Christmas? Your menu sounds wonderful. SM, my cards went out really late this year too. Our overseas friends may get them in time for Epiphany! (I made sure to put "Happy New Year" on them so that they can be New Years' cards, ha ha)
Congrats on the grades, C4C. And I hope everyone who is feeling under the weather will be better in time for Christmas.

C4C that is awesome!!! Wonderful news!
Okay I am making my food shopping list. Since I was in Roswell yesterday, I had a visit to Sam's and did most everything.

Cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory--Godiva chocolate!Nothing unhealthy or calorie filled I am sure!
I also am hosting at the church this weekend, and I am doing the feast for the scavenger hunt the kids are doing New Years Eve. That has been so much fun!

The agency kitties, finished with the breakfast/brunch rush and caught up with lunch prep, have dressed Leela in a little elf costume just like theirs, how cute!
Leela is shaping up to be a cute little Christmas Cat. Although she's been with us for a year and a half, we didn't have much of a Christmas last year. This year, we have a tree, and Hess trucks line the staircase (we're only missing a couple of years in the 20 years we've been married). She loves to nap under the tree. Interestingly, her "spot" is opposite where Shaddo liked to be. Almost like she knows to reserve that spot for her big brudder. Oh, and she pulls the tree skirt away from the tree in case her other brudder, Jiggs, wants to drink the water - he was always doing that!
