  1. My 8 month old kitten Chase is missing....I last saw him about 8 hours ago and haven't seen him since...he's a complete indoor cat and there is no chance he could have gotten outside, also, when the food bag was shaken he didn't come running like he usually does...my family and i have looked everywhere in our house and still can't find him anywhere (literally)....where could he be?????? Please any advice would be wonderful!!!

  2. Have you checked heat vents? Appliances large and small? Under all the beds? Behind bookshelves? Behind Entertainment units? Piles of clothes?

If you are sure he's instead the house, then put out some food and eventually he'll come out.

  3. yes we've checked everywhere! Could he be trapped somewhere? Is that possible, because if he could he would have come out for food....i have left food out and my room door open and light on. He is definitely inside, or he's in the garage, but there is no way he is outside. Nobody has left the house or opened a door since he was last seen.

  4. Check the dryer, in the ceiling if you have ceiling tiles, check in the car engine, under couches, furniture, closets, in cabinets, ...they are good hiders

  5. Inside the couch, under the box spring and/or mattress, believe me I have expert hiders and have had a couple hide for up to 3 days.

  6. Jennify, this site has great tips for finding your kitten:
    http://www.petrescue.com/petlibrary/pet-rescue/how-to-find-a-lost-cat-or-dog/

As CM and Deb and everyone above has said, and as this site says:

"First, search your property thoroughly. Cats and small dogs can get into some mighty strange places.

We once had a cat that got stuck in an 8″ ventilation pipe for 2 days right next to the house! We searched frantically, night and day, for him all during this time. Finally we heard his pitiful, faint cries coming from the pipe and saved him! (We immediately installed a screen over the outlet so that this would never happen again.)
The point is, look in EVERY nook and cranny. Don’t assume that your pet would never crawl into some tiny space.
Look behind, under, and inside washing machines, clothes dryers, stoves, refrigerators, and dish washers. Look behind water heaters, in boxes, under furniture, under beds, in closets, in cabinets, in shelves and bookcases, in drain pipes, in sewer drains, in culvert pipes, under vehicles, in crawl spaces under the house, inside sheds and barns, etc. In the case of cats, also look in attic crawl spaces, on the roof, in roof gutters, and up in the trees."

You would not believe where kittens can go. Open every drawer -- we had a cat who loved to get into the tea towels drawer, if it was even the slightest bit open, and crawl towards the back and hide and go to sleep. She got shut in more than once -- so check and open every drawer and every closet drawer and underneath every bit of furniture. Call Chase and rattle his box of cat biscuits or tap his tin with a tin opener...

  9. Mine have climbed into the fridge and been shut in so check there. They also have discovered that climbing into drawers and heading to the back is an excellent napping spot. Also discovered there can be a opening where cabinets are next to a wall and I had to block access to that "mouse" hole with a plastic lid. I was afraid that they'd squeeze thru and get stuck as they got older and bigger.

  11. hey sorry about not posting....yes we found chase!!! The next morning we opened the doors to go onto the patio and chase was just sitting there...not wanting to come in or anything haha...so somehow he managed to get outside and yet still stayed on the property although i went out to look for him with a flashlight and couldn't find him...it was really amusing and yet heartbreaking to see all his little paw prints outside cuz it seemed like he had been running from our front door to the back door to find a way inside. Needless to say he has perfectly fine but seems to have developed an interest in escaping again which we won't let happen ahah...thank you for everyone's support!!
