We got my mom a kitten for her anniversary about a week ago. He is three months old. A couple days after we got him he seemed to just want to sleep and not play at all. He has a runny nose and watery eyes and really bad breath. He doesn't seem to be eating either and I used a dropper to give him water. I feel so bad for him he seems just miserable. He doesn't even want us to touch him. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow, does this sound like an upper respiratory infection? We have another cat Twilight (who is none to pleased about Prince), she doesn't seem to be getting sick. What else can we do to make this poor little guy feel better?

Cats need to be able to smell to want to eat. If he is congested, he can't smell, so he won't eat, so he has no energy. He could have some post nasal drip that would contribute to his bad breath.
My advice is to get him to the vet and you are already doing that. Please let us know how the little guy is doing after the vet checks him out.
There have been a number of threads in the past about how to ease the introduction of a new cat to the household. I can't find any right now, but some of our other members are better at tracking down older posts so one of them may be able to tag some links for you.

Definitely sounds like a uri - cbm is right about them not eating when they cant smell, but another reason can also be that kitties with uri's often have ulcers in their mouth, making it painful for them to eat (they can also cause bad breath). Antibiotics are probably the best way to go, but you can also ask your vet for some interferon, it really helps to boost their immune systems. Also, strong-smelling foods like fish will help encourage him to eat, but if he really doesnt want to eat, you should get him some kmr - he wont like having it fed to him with a syringe, but it will help keep him hydrated and nourished. Also please watch out for a cough (sounds like a sneeze that got stuck just before it got out), that would indicate that the uri has moved down to the lungs. It can also affect their digestive tracts and cause vomitting/diahrrea, which is really dangerous because is dehydrates the kitties very quickly. Good luck!
