Well, years ago I was really into running and my running buddy and I ran the "First Annual Willie Nelson 10K" outside of Austin. Those were in the days when Willie decided to be healthy. For those of you who are Texans you know that he gave that up in short order! Anyway, I have to say it was one of the hardest 10K races I've done - nothing but hills. Even downhill was uphill! My friend and I saw Willie up ahead of us - you could easily recognize him by the Texas flag on his butt :-). We were so excited and were debating what we should say to him but then, when we actually caught up with him, we were so nervous that we just ran on past him and didn't say a word. How lame! And I never got another chance because Willie never had the "Second Annual". Guess those hills ate his lunch, too!
Also, one time my husband and I were at an outdoor cafe in Santa Fe and we saw Val Kilmer from a distance. Does that count?

Hey, just coming back to this thread and catching up. Sharon, I have to admit that Geraldo looks pretty good in person. He was dressed and groomed impeccably and smelled good too. I wonder if there is a way to get the Geraldo episode from videotape to Youtube?
As for REO Speedwagon...in 2002 I saw them at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ when we had a reunion get-together of former ride operators from around 1980. Then a few months ago I won tickets to see them at Chastain Amphitheater in Atlanta. They gave a great concert!!!
I just remembered another one--I saw Tip O'Niell once at a 4th of July parade on Cape Cod. This was about 15 years ago. He wasn't in the parade, he was walking past on the sidewalk.

I forgot about how I almost literally ran into Peter Coyote. It was at the Fairfax, CA festival and I was with a friend and we were walking single file through the crowds and Peter wasn't looking where he was going as he was talking to his son, and almost walked into me. Now that would have been interesting. I like his portrayal of the sick guy in Patch Adams.
