  1. Thank you again for all the responses! :) sorry I haven't logged on as often as I'd like to. Been having an on-and-off fever these past few days :( the weather has been terrible! And so I've been spending most of my time sleeping!

Update on the catfight: Habel went missing after the fight. The gentle boy just didn't want me soothing him, and just left! I think he was offended because I concerned more for Joe.. His style of walking out even emphasised his dissapointment. It's amazing how cats show feelings... It's almost funny. He almost didn't come home for dinner too. He showed up just as everyone else is finishing. LOL. I made sure to give him extra :)
I haven't had time and energy to go to the vet too... I hope nothing comes up from the fight... :(

Joe is doing great... He is peeing more today... :)
For FF50, last time I weighed him, it was 3.3 kilos. That was around a week ago, at a vet. He's still on c/d right now.., but I don't know the right amount to feed him. The vets have been advising me to switch to dry c/d,because it's lots cheaper, but I refused. Dry c/d requires 3-kilo-cats to be fed 60 grams a day (which in my opinion is very little, but that's my opinion only :D )

For skyron: yes, Joe is unspayed. I will try to google the relation of being unspayed and UTI right after this... Thanks for wanting to ask your doc about it!

Rossy, lily, and SM..: thanks a lot for your kind wishes, advices, prayers and support! :) hugs all around...

  2. Dionne, you may have a very good reason for not neutering Joe but I just wanted to make sure you realise it will make it much more likely that he will fight more, and be more territorial and aggressive towards other cats, especially males. Also that he will spray more. Male cats are much less likely to spray if they are neutered before they start this behaviour. Hope both he and poor Habel are feeling better today. :)

  3. We are only starting to cautiously relax about Joe and you bring up on again, off again fevers over several days. That is not the way it is supposed to be. Have you seen a doctor? You really don't want to ignore symptoms like fever too long. I did once. My only symptom had been a high fever, otherwise I was ok. In the late afternoon on day three I called my doctor's office and asked how long I should wait before seeing her about it and was told to get my butt in there fast-- I probably had pneumonia. Well, they jinxed me because I was in the hospital by 8 p.m.

    Just sayin' ...

  4. Hi Dionne, Lily is right,a fever is nothing to play with, it definetly means an infection is going on in your body, and you will need to see the Doctor to get on the right antibiotics and to be looked over. Please see your Doctor very soon.

Sorry to hear Habel was upset and stayed a way a few hours,he probably was upset from the excitement of the fight with Jo,glad he's back again. It's great all is still okay with Jo's urinating. Best wishes, Take care of yourself,Hugs

  5. For the C/D wet food he would be needed:

A tiny bit over a 5.5 ounce can of the chicken formula a day (as in just an extra tablespoon or so out of another can)

Or 1 1/4 of a 5.5 ounce can of the seafood formula a day.

Please do continue to feed wet - cats need that extra moisture :)

He needs roughly 175 calories a day. Here is a chart that has most of the brands listed and how many calories are in that food:

  6. Hi all... Thanks for caring about my health.. :) fever's gone today... Only the runny nose and headache remains... I suppose they too will clear up soon... :)

Just on updates, Joe is fine today... :) he's still not urinating as much as I'd like him to, but he's been home for 10 days without any complications. I keep praying everyday that he will stay in good shape. :)

And this may be off-topic too, but my orphans reached the 12-week mark today! Yay... And both are in good health.

Thanks for the link you gave, FF! Really helps me! And it's fun to browse around. My mom and I had a good laugh at the illustration of an obese cat, we have a 5-month-old who looks like a ball from above! But since Timmy is only a kitten, we don't want him to be on diet yet... I hope it's fine this way... :)

Anyway, I will keep post updates... Oh I really really really hope joget won't have any complications...

    Thank you all...

  7. Dionne, thanks for the update, all good news, thats wonderful:)

  8. Glad Joe and you are doing better. I was told many years ago that a whole male who doesn't mate frequently will be prone to UTI's. It should help to get Joe neutered.

  9. Hi all... I haven't posted in awhile... Joe's been home for 2 weeks without any complications.. :) but I do notice that he is losing weight :( not much though... And I hope he'll hang on to this no-complication condition... :)

Thanks again everyone. I will keep updates :)

  11. Joe Man is doing goooood... He eats well, pees well, his poop is less runny. He is still thin, thinner than he was before hospitalized, but not getting any thinner (I hope).

Was just wondering how long should he be on the c/d diet?

There's this pet store in an upscale part of the city, where the expatriates live, that sells wellness. Wellness dry, though still very expensive, costs less than royal canin urinary dry. And wellness canned is same price as c/d, but better quality, better tasting, more calories therefore more economical to feed?

Thank you for reading and wishing for Joe... I really hope he has pulled through...!
