Thanks you guys. I probably will check into it. I have to try & stay focused now that I've applied. It's going to be easier said than done tho. After losing my Binky & now losing Squeekers, I feel drained. I don't have the time to feel this way but, have little choice. Before I can even get the application thru the system tho, I now have to deal w/getting in touch w/the birth records dept. In Michigan. My rep needs a copy of the it before she can comtinue on. Not sure how long that will take,but I only have till Feb.4th,so I'll have to stay on top of it.
I'm just amazed that I took this first step. I was so nervous that I came close to canceling the appt. a couple of times. I'm glad I stuck w/it. If nothing else, it's a good lesson (learned late in life)but, a good lesson. It would be so much easier to just win the lottery. :) -
I was born in Micigan and when I lost everything in a fire it took me 10 days to get my birth certificate including the day I called. You can get this done well before the end of the month--make the call tomorrow or order online. Stay focused an put yourself first this time. You must take care of you to take care of others--you can do this.

In future interviews be sure to stress that Mr Pot4brains' attitude and your commitment to his well-being has contributed to your anxiety and depression. The stress has exacerbated your conditions.

Good call Ailuro! All the stress and strain that you've gone through in standing by useless pot 4 brains and his prostrate cancer issues has definitely led you to the road you stand on today! Susie...you're doing fine. I still don't understand why your original birth certificate isn't valid. Geeeze...All those years you managed to hang onto it and what good was it!? Stay on this while the irons are hot. You can do this! If you need the funds to pay for the certificate from Mi. let me know. I have it right now but might not later in the month. =)

Karen...It's not that the certificate is not valid. But they need an actual birth report record to confirm I exist. These days anything can be faked.
I did tell my rep I was willing to have them take new footie prints. But w/the size difference now, they'd be hard to compare. :)
Ailur...very good points you make. I did mention in the interview that depression was a top priority to deal with. -
You need to get a cerfied birth certificate. http://www.mdch.state.mi.us/pha/osr/index.asp this website should help you, or you can contact the County Clerk for the county you were born in to get a certified birth certificate. They often say not to open until you take it where you need to use it to verify.

Thanks everyone for your support & comments. I did get denied ,as everyone said I would. I've been trying to press on w/it all & I'm hanging by a thin thread before giving up. I've had to seek out some personal one-0n-one help from others that have helped others. My disability date of start doesn't warrant even bothering with a lawyer. I have been told that all my calendar work records (I kept them for yrs.) will be usuable when it comes time to verify any work I did that wasn't filed for. I have the Dr. appts. set up by them. If the stress from it doesn't subside, I will be bald from hair falling out before I get to them. All this scary mess is evolving around my birthday as well. So much for feeling good about aging another year.
I haven't updated you on my progress because,frankly, I didn't want to burden you & I didn't want to jinx my situation any more than it already is. But that's all out the window too. I'll give you more news as it comes...if I don't miss all these dated deadlines they've given me. I already can't think straight & all this is just making it worse. Thanks you guys for listening tho. I Love You All! :) -

Don't sweat the hair loss. I know it seems easy for me to say. But understand, I grew up with Vitiligo from the age of 5. I know it isn't the same as losing your hair but I have had white streaks since that tender age as well as the splotchy skin coloration.
Beg, borrow or steal a copy of Star Trek the Motion Picture and watch it. The bald and beautiful Deltan had to shave her head for the part. She said she was scared to death until she saw herself and saw she was not only beautiful but striking without her dark Indian locks.
If I could survive the snotty nosed dirty faced urchins pointing and shouting "I'm not going to play with you. You have leprosy", you can do this.

Hang in there Susie! I got approved and had to wait 18 months for the first check but it was retroactive to the date of approval so it was a bunch. At the SS offices I've been to they've never been disrespectful or condescending. I know it's hard to push yourself when you're down and lack energy but it's worth it. [[[[Susie]]]]]
