If you could say a Prayer for my (almost) 18 yr.old feral Buddy,he really could use it. I mentioned to you not long ago that his girlfriend of all these yrs. Squeekers (she never meowed-only squeeked) had been showing her age lately. She was down to my best estimate under 5 lbs. I knew she was telling me it was getting close to her time. I was so hoping they would go together in their sleep (bittersweet). She pretty much had stopped eating. I checked on the 2 last night before bedtime & she was curled up sleeping in the cozy (dryer-warmed) bed I'd made for them. Buddy was curled around her as if he were trying to keep her toasty warm. I was almost certain she would pass to the bridge overnight.
To my horror,when I checked for her this a.m. she had gotten up in the middle of the night & left. I'm pretty sure she went off to find her own little spot to make her exit from here to the bridge. She never,ever has missed a mealtime & she didn't come home this morning. I've called all over for. Buddy has gone looking in every spot the 2 of them have ever slept,including the roof. No Squeekers...If you could just wish for a Peaceful passing for Squeekers & a little 1 for poor Buddy left behind,wondering where she's gone to...I would be ever so grateful to you guys.
You've all been so supportive of all my losses. Rest In Peace Squeekers.
And it hasn't even been a month since I lost my Binky. :(

Thanks you guys. Feeding time tonight was brutal for me. I'm sure Squeekers won't be coming back. And just watching Buddy sit at the steps,step up to their bed ,only to find her not there & then wander to their next favorite place to see if she's there...is just too much emotion for me. I'm still spending extra time w/Hannah because she still misses Binky,as I do also.
Now,it's heartbreaking to watch Buddy wonder where his favorite girl in the whole world is. I was crying while fixing the kits food tonight from the pain of losing 2 furbabies I've known & loved & lost in such a short time.
Mr.Useless asked me why I was crying,& for a slight nano second ,I thought he cared. But when I told him I was crying from the pain of losing 2 furbabies,all he could say was...well, didn't you know...this is a cat death house.
I will focus on what the other kits still here need & forget Mr.Useless exists. Maybe you all could say a Prayer that Useless will wake up w/bed sores. He sooo deserves them. Sorry for the unfluffy thought there. -

Thanks Joan for thinking of Cowboy. He was the only cat I owned whom I didn't get to hold as he passed. He passed at the vets just minutes before I arrived. Oh..& of course, Squeekers. She was a light & dark gray striped little thing. And she had 2 different colored eyes.

Susie, sit down with Buddy and talk to him about Squeekers, I am sure that they do understand the sentiments if not the words we speak. The caring comes thru the language. Can't make a nice comment about Mr. U so won't say much on that.

Squeekers, it is important to all of us (whether four legged or two) that we pick our time and place. I hope that the place you have chosen has some special memory for you. And I am thinking that you wanted to spare Buddy the pain of finding you had gone to the Bridge. How lucky are you and Buddy to have had such love for each other.
You will meet again. In due time. Until then, rest well little Squeekers. Buddy, take solace in knowing that Squeekers is at peace and will wait for you.

I'm so sorry, Susie. How amazing that Squeekers knew when it was time to go. I'm glad she had a chance for a last snuggle with Buddy. I will keep you in Buddy in my prayers. I hope Squeekers' passing was peaceful. {{{hugs}}}

Thanks so much. You all know what it's like. You've all been there w/your own furloves. I'm wandering aimlessly around the house,having plenty I should be doing but, can't seem to stay focused to do any of it. Buddy has sat in every spot of the front porch,seeming like he's looking & waiting for Squeekers to come back. It's heart breaking. He's now sitting out there staring at the door,wanting to come inside as tho he thinks she's in here. I had to close the curtains because it was so painful to see. I want badly to let him in but,just don't have the space to keep him seperated from the others. He's been outdoors all his life & I doubt he would be comfortable being inside. He's a lovey-dovey guy but is feral all the way when he sees any other cat. Him & Hopper still hate each other from when Hopper was feral. I'm sure he would be unhappy having to spend his time indoors by himself. All he had all these long yrs. of his was Squeekers.
I was out there brushing him for awhile & he gets so carried away w/loving it that he gets rough. I have 3 new wounds on my hand to prove that. All I can do now is try & spend a little more time loving him till he can get thru this as well.
Thanks again for your support. Without it, I'd be so out there & lost myself. -
Please allow Buddy to help comfort you as you comfort him--you two need each other. May you both feel peace knowing that Sqeekers feels no pain and she will always love both you and Buddy with all her heart. She is with the great Wolf and you will meet again in the fullness of time. Remember how loved you are Susie--and how many truly are alive because of you and how many had full lifes because of you and how many went to the bridge knowing that there was a human on the face of this Earth that loved them with all her heart. To know that someone loves you like that is a most amazing gift--please remember.

Thanks so much all of you. I knew she was getting close to her time. Monday afternoon I spent some time out front brushing & petting Her & Buddy. And Monday night about 8 p.m. I went out to check on them. They were both all snuggy in there bed & sleeping. I just wish she'd have passed in their bed. I hate the thought of her body being out there somewhere. But It was total instinct on her part to leave in the night. I'm sure she passed quickly.
But, watching Buddy look for her makes me cry every time I look at him.
Mr. Wolf...please take good care of my Binky & old gal Squeekers.
