Sounds like you had a great evening AV. I checked out the link you mentioned earlier, looks like an amazing parade. Sweet dreams. I'm headed out now. Airy just rang to say she is back in Ca with her Jim-man and going for a long walk to unkink herself.

Ok, AV, for the unedumacated (lol), what is Gasparilla? Bye MS!

Ok, think I will do that. I had never heard about it before you mentioned it. It is a curious thing for me when people mention things I don't know about. Thru this family I am learning so many things! How are the "girls" Abby and Cuddles?

Evening everyone, getting ready for w&&& and don't want to go in tonight at all. But must go, its Sunday premium pay (25% + 10% night differential per hour) so won't give that up. Not feeling well though, migraine is and has been hanging on for the last day or so....have to remember to take salty food (fritos or something ) to work for the nausea and my meds for the same. So anyhoo, will see anyone awake after the witching hour + about 1 or 2 hrs since its always been busy at first when we get there. To those sleeping, sleep well and wake up refreshed, scritches to your kittehs in the morning.

IF I didn't have too many already I would go pick this one up, hate when the older furbabies are not adopted usually because of their age.
2P, thanks I hope there are enough of us tonight and that it doesn't go crazy this evening.

http://thereifixedit.com/page/3/ Oh my what a funny site!
2P, when its a full-moon we get really busy, they don't need flashlights to travel across the desert then. If its raining like it has been lately, usually it slows them down a bit otherwise they come across no matter what the weather is. I wouldn't cross the desert not knowing where you are going, besides just the terrain alone (cacti and other treacherous plants) there are toooooo many critters out there that can hurt you but they are desperate people.

Evening Jan, sorry was a bit busy so haven't had the chance to check back in. How was your day besides setting up jams today?

Evening Jane, how was your day today?

Good, I got a lot done :) Tidied the house and then tidied some of the garden! Planted a walnut tree and two beautiful deep pink azaleas. Hopefully one day the walnut tree will be nice to sit under -- there's no shade in my garden right now.
Of course Libby and Jasper both had to supervise, and Libby had to make sure the sheep pellets were okay by rubbing herself all over the bag. I warned her she might end up smelling of sheep poo but she took no notice.
How's your head, Deb, is it still giving you trouble?
-
I'm still here, but not for long.
Awwwww, Libby, I'll still cuddle you. I don't mind if she smells a bit sheepish. I've cuddled plenty of lambs, mainly motherless wee things that I had to bottle feed. You achieved quite a bit today Jcat. Mmmmmm walnuts.
My jam failed to set Deb, I have to reboil it again tomorrow and re sterilize the jars too. Hruuumph!Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

I'm not surprised, MS, it's past the witching hour... so how was your day today after all your travels? The nectarine jam sounds great, I love nectarines! I planted a nectarine tree last week (oh, my, I'm going to have to wait for SO LONG for any of these trees to grow!) I shall be a little old lady by then... or possibly a very tubby old lady...
-
We were lucky that there were already an old fashioned white nectarine tree, an old dessert plum and a Tahitian lime tree here. We planted several apples but they have since died. Our grape vines are going really well and were have a good crop coming on.

Dang you got a lot accomplished Jane, I got basically nothing done. Wanted to chop my head off at the shoulders but couldn't do it, can't break this headache no matter what I have done. The walnut tree will be wonderful to sit under in a few years.
Jan, how many jars did you end up with of the jam?

I don't mind the sheep bit, MS, it's the poo bit I object to. But that's very kind of you, I'll send Libs through the wormhole for cuddles if she's too noxious...
Oh, naughty nectarines. Do they need more pectin, MS? I noticed when making nectarine crumble that they are a lot 'wetter' than lots of other stewed fruit.
-
You were lucky, MS, I got a couple of scraggly trees (no fruit, no blossom, no red leaves in autumn) that I think were conifers and about ten photinias! Well, I exaggerate, about seven photinias. I kept one... (But alas my neighbours planted some more -- eekk!)
Oh, Deb, I'm so sorry about your head. You can't get anything done with a migraine, they are relentless.
-
I hope they don't need more pectin as you can't buy it now unless it's already pre mixed with sugar and that won't work for me. I'll probably add some gelatine and see what happens.

Whaaaa? That's stoopid! What if you don't want sugar?
There was a mini-earthquake outside -- Libs used to leap up onto the office windowsill to ask me to let her in but these days she climbs up the rosebush instead (don't ask me why). It sounds like a smallish heffalump...!
