  1. Poor little baby. I sure hope that Heaven makes it thru her infection. And maybe a new home where she'll be & feel safer.

  4. healing light and love from me and my furry family. No animal or human should ever be abused. While we may be a kitten/cat board, there is always room in our hearts and prayers for all others too.

OMG, the 11 year old girl who saved Heaven is named Serenity. Isn't that something?

  10. I couldn't read much of this. My heart and all my prayers go to Heaven to recover but also I pray that the miserable scum of the earth S.O.B.s are caught and locked away forever! God will find them even if man doesn't!!! =(

  13. I could not find an email address for the mayor of York, PA...but I did make a quick phone call to her office. Her assistant was very friendly and personable. I asked that something "honorable" be done for Serenity, who is such an honorable young lady.

BTW, snail mail is the best way to go in these situations, so here is the mayor's address. And phone number.

The Honorable C. Kim Bracey, Mayor
    City Hall
    50 W. King St.
    York, PA 17401
    Phone: (717) 849-2221
    Fax: (717) 849-2345

Along with punishing the evil, we must praise the good.

  14. Serenity's mom,I'll bet is one Proud mom! What an upstanding & totally selfless yound lady Serenity is.
They mentioned in earlier reports that they hadn't been able to find the owners recorded on Heaven's microchip. I wonder if it was the owner themselves that abused & dumped poor Heaven?

  15. You are so right Dee! We need to punish the evil as well as remembering to praise the good. I'm not good at snail mail, so I followed your lead and called. I will also look for an email or number to the York SPCA and suggest the same thing for Serenity! I know they recognize hero's for animals and Serenity is without question a HERO!

  18. ****I posted this on two other threads, but I am also posting it here****

Remember the story about the abused dog in York, PA? An 11 yr old girl saved the little dog, Heaven, from certain death. A few of us phoned and emailed the girl's school and the mayor's office, asking that she be recognized. Our wish came true; Serenity was honored yesterday by school officials and the mayor in a large school assembly!

The principal emailed me this morning:
    ..................................
Thank you for your concern. We are very proud of all of our students, especially Serenity. Here is some of the media links for our Hero Assembly on Friday.
