Another update; a huge boost of prayers and white light needed please. They have found that the cancer has spread to my father's liver - it wasn't there before the chemo started about 3 months ago and now it's inoperable. The doctor has never seen anything like it. Probably accounts for his general sickness and inability to eat. They are not going to continue with his chemo - there is no point. They were hoping to do a biopsy to investigate the liver, but my dad's blood isn't clotting well enough (he is on blood thinners for the clots in his lungs).
So prayers and thoughts please for us all to cope with this as best we can, and strength for all of us to make what time my dad has left as comfortable and relaxed as we can. -

Oh Metsa I am so sorry to hear this news. I will keep your dad in my prayers for limited amounts of pain and quality for the time he has left. I will pray for you (and for him) for strength and courage during this very difficult time. Prayers for your entire family. Tucking the TDK blanket of love and strength tightly around all of you.

This is awful news Metsa, but at least you know while he's still coherent. Tell him you love him and thank him for being your Dad. I never got the chance to with mine...my thoughts and prayers are with you {{{hugs}}}

I'm so sorry to hear dad isn't doing well. Have you been able to get him into hospice. It is a blessing to be able to keep him in his home at a time like this, without running yourself ragged.

Hello everyone, my dad passed away at 1pm yesterday with me and my mum holding his hands, at home like he wanted. My sisters were on their way up, but he went so so fast in the end. On Thursday he got the biopsy results over the phone and they said there was nothing more they could do, and then yesterday he just passed on. I am glad he didn't live without hope, becuase he was always so determined to beat this disease, but I don't get why this had to happen at all. Pleaase pray for him and for my family.

Oh Metsa, I'm so sorry your Dad has passed. It's lovely you and your Mother were with him at the end. Very sad your sisters weren't able to be there too.

I'm so sorry, Metsa. I know that liver cancer is very swift, my aunt died of it last year and she was only 52. I'm glad your dad was able to come home, like he wanted, and it must have been a great comfort to him to have you and your mum with him, holding his hand. I'm sorry your sisters didn't get there in time. I bet your dad was very, very proud of his lovely family. {{{Metsa and family}}}
