Oh, Skyron... I hope Sam gets well real soon! He'll be in the hands of Dr. Peck, won't he?

A thought for Sam please?

I called this morning to ask if Sam can come home yet. He hasnt even been operated on. Apparently they had a lot of emergency surgeries to get to this morning. Still leaves my baby with a gaping, bleeding, oozing hole in his leg. (the vet yanked all the scabs off last night, saying the wound had to air out)I want to bring my Sam home :( Since I cant pick him up this morning, he will have to wait till tonight, after my exam, for me to pick him up. If I cant get there before they close he'll have to spend another night there.

I hope Sam gets his surgery today Skyron, poor wee baby. All this doesn't help you concentrate on your exams either. Sending heaps of Healing Energy for sam and {{{hugs]}} for you.

Sam's back home :) Vet said the barb from the fence had cut him down to the bone/tendon on his knee joint. Sam now has 5 stitches and a drain. I give the drain 1 day, and then Sam will have scratched it out. But the child will be going to the vet for antibiotic shots untill dr Peck is happy that he doesnt need them any more. Apprently they tried giving him a pill at the clinic without much success . . . (I could have told them that myself though)

Tiiggy will probably help Sam pull it out. Misty somehow got Shakespeare to pull her drain out once. I swear they can talk to each other. Tiiggy is very mad at Sam though. He stinks of vet. They've never been apart in their lives before until now. Tiiggy spent a lot of time looking for his brother last night.

I'm worried about the boy. When we brought him home he was hysterical. He spent a full day running aroud/away, hissing and growling at anything and everything. He would go hise under a bed and just hiss & growl (at no-one in particular). I called the vet yesterday to ask if Sam might be having a reaction to the sedation/medication, or if he might be in pain, and they said no. He's getting the same antibiotic that he got the first time, and the sedation meds would have been out of his system within a few hours. If he was in pain, he'd be picking at his wound, which he isnt doing. He has stopped running around, he has now found himself a spot to sleep, but he still hisses & growls and is acting very anti-social. Dont know if I should be worried or not.

Poor Sam! Some cats just handle vet visits better than others. My RT used to be really antisocial after each vet visit, especially if she got her booster shots. She would just sulk for the next few days, giving everyone an earful if they got too close. Even the boy cats knew enough to stay clear of her when she was like that! Just keep observing him to make sure he isn't in any pain or seems really sick.

He could still be disoriented from the anethesia. Some don't react well to it, even though they may have been okay with it in the past. It should pass in a few days, if not, tell the vet.
