  1. Although it didn't go the way I wanted, it is time to celebrate the victory of the Saints. In that theme I see a gumbo and creole night coming to the buffet!! The champagne is free flowing--as are all the fountains. I highly reccommend the crayfish gumbo--it was made with love and care by those diligent Kitteh Chefs!! There is a monster victory cake as well!

Pull up a chair and help celebrate the victory of a most deserving team!

  2. Hello - anyone here? I'll just hang out by the fire with a pile of agency kittehs. It was a good game! We weren't rooting for anyone in particular, just wanted an entertaining game. Good for the Saints! Nice to see Drew Brees with his son too.

  3. Champagne! I love champagne and I'm so happy for the Saints and the city of "Nawlins!"

I'm not big on gumbo so I'll have some red beans and rice.

Have to say, you see the best and the worst in people in situations like our "snowmageddon." I'm really trying to let go of the "worst" that I have witnessed and heard about and focus on the "best." Sometimes it's just so hard and frustrating, though. Just brings me back to my lottery fantasy of living someplace that is far from people. Give me my TDK online (or hey, if I win enough we can start out own commune!) and my animals and my honey and I'll be set!

Thanks, SM, for starting up the virtual fireplace!

  4. Hey Joan! You snuck in while I was typing! Are your ready for what's coming your way?

  5. It was a good game--well except for that on side kick. It broke my heart. Since he is my hometown boy I was so very sad for him, but he has a family that loves him, and in the end that is more important. I agree--Drew Brees with his son was precious! I hope the Saints enjoy this time--they played an amazing game and they earned the victory!

  6. Bad weather and being snow bound really wears on people. It makes people short and snappy. Chalk it up to the weather and know that Spring is around the corner!

  7. Evening all!... Saints had a good victory, they deserved it - I was torn as to who to pull for!...

how is everyone this evening?..... tired of moving, seems like I'll never get things done!.... I'm tired of construction, packing, boxing, unpacking!... *whines*......

  12. I can't believe that we are open tomorrow. Feds in DC are closed, Fort Meade is closed (I am really close to Fort Meade), EVERYTHING is closed and my street remains unplowed. The county said that circles and cul-de-sacs are last, but my street is REALLY long and ends in a cul-de-sac. Twice around walking is a mile, that's how long my street is. My BIL said my car will never make it. Look, I know that many citizens don't want to pay my salary for a snow day. But dayum, I'll take it without pay if I have to. I emailed my boss told him if someone will pick me up (with a 4WD) I'll be happy to go in. It's REALLY bad out there and more is coming. Grrr! I'll take some more Saintly Champagne!

  13. I've had to take vacation days due to snow, though not recently. We've been in our house 21 years. We're on a dead end of a former summer community and when we were first here, several houses were still summer only. There were barrels of sand on some of the hills, but we were pretty much on our own. The town would plow private communities when they were finished with the town roads. Things have changed now that almost everyone here is year-round. Our road is paved, and Meals-On-Wheels has to get in here so it's better. We still have a 4WD in the family though - that's a must around here!

  14. Although we may not have the same inches Lainey, I understand. We have only 1 plow here. Only main streets are ever touched. The rest are left. It makes it near impossible to navigate out of a neighborhood. It also is difficult for the bus to get through to pick up kids. If you don't feel safe, you should not drive and they should see what the streets are like. Is the school open? Hopefully you will have a ride that will be safe.

  15. Hi Lainey! How are you?

Hi Cheri Joan SM and AV!

  16. Gini remember you are one day closer to graduation--I'd start the countdown!! Then you can have a day to sleep--bet you will need it! How many days until Spring Break?

  17. Schools are closed through Wednesday, but then another storm is coming in! Since I"m unplowed I emailed my boss and said if someone in a 4WD is willing to come get me I will be more than happy to go in. We'll see... We do have liberal leave, which means I can take leave without repercussions... To me it's just stoopid! So I'm gonna sleep in and see what happens in the AM. I'll try but if I get stuck I will be unhappy! And yes, my next vehicle will be a SUV 4WD!

  20. Hi night shifters.
Just had to add my two cents worth to my favorite hometown team.
When the Saints...go marching in... Oh when the Saints go marching in.....

  21. Hi Bobbi!!!! Good to see you!! Celebrate with pride--they did good!! Wish it wasn't against Indie--but better them than the Steelers!

Posted 1 month ago by SoxsMom #

  22. Remember it isn't worth your life Lainey. Use the liberal leave if no one can give you a ride. Maybe they will change their minds by morning.

  23. Ange maybe you need to reason your thoughts out? Could anyone help?

  24. SM Spring break is at the end of March, the few days before easter and leading up to it. We have a long weekend this weekend which is nice! I wish they had snow days in schools here in NY. No matter how much it snows my school never closes

Posted 1 month ago by ginirosaru #

  25. You know our University isn't taking Monday off--I found that awfully strange. Hopefully you will have a few moments to rest and unwind!

Posted 1 month ago by SoxsMom #

  26. Last year we had a very significant snowstorm that closed the public schools (elementary middle and high) in NYC for the first time in a very very long time and my college remained open! I couldn't believe it. I still went and my classes had about a 10% attendance rate

  27. I am off to slumberland!

Good Night and Peace to All!

  28. Peeks in before getting ready to leave for that place again, oh well there are only two more days this week and then its break time again :)

Ange, hope that you and the family sleep this evening knowing that Patches is pain-free now. Prayers and my deepest condolences for SD, your Mum and you.

  29. Checking in for a short time, had a long day helping niece get the house and grounds tidy as parents are returning from the UK after dashing there following my SIL mothers passing. As well as gardening the hay paddocks had been cut and we are keeping our fingers crossed that it doesn't rain before the hay is bailed.
I had lot & lots of cuddles with their two cats, especially the boy cat Titch. His sister Muffy was a bit more reserved. Also had cuddles with the chocolate lab Ollie. It was a lovely animally day.

  30. Evening MS, sounds like a good working day for you with helping the niece get the house ready. Plus it was an animally day :)
