Crazy Tail Wagging

(10 posts)
  1. Finnegan has always wagged his tail constantly, and aggressively. Friends and vets alike have commented on how abnormal it is. I know that this is generally a sign of displeasure or being "annoyed", but he does it while he's purring, playing, eating even sleeping. He certainly doesn't seem to be annoyed. I'm not concerned or anything, just thought it was kind of funny. Anyone else have any insight or experience in the matter?

  3. My Boo Boo, his tail has always been in motion. Even when he's sleeping it sometimes moves. A busy lil tail he has!

  7. Dot will move her tail oh so gently touching my face when I'm trying to sleep...I'm wondering if I snore & she does it purposely!(She is purring at the time tho!)

  8. I've had kitties who wagged and kitties who didn't. My favorite thing to do was talk quietly to the kitties while they were sleeping and many times they would "answer" with their tail. Try it with Finnegan.

  9. Zorro is a big-time tail wagger. That tail is in motion most of the time, and usually he is thumping it against something.

  10. Hermes has always been a tail-wagger. When he was little and he'd wag, his entire butt would move (lol). My husband dubbed that "Happy Butt" and Hermes still does it. We'll see him looking at us, and if we call his name and put a hand down for a head bonk, he'll start trotting toward us with tail a-wag. Even when he's drinking water, the tail will slowly wave back and forth.

    Every cat is different.
