  1. Welcome to a cold snowy Tuesday in Illinois! Kittehs all wore their mittens in to work and they are now warming up by the fire. They have a fully loaded buffet of warm pasteries and hot cereals to fill your tummy. There is also bacon, sausage and sausage gravy to fill you as well. Coffee, tea, cocoa and juices to quench your thirst. Please snuggle a kit, they are chilly! Did anyone notice the kittens making snow "angels" outside the cafe?? Silly kitties!

  2. Morning MC, I hope you are well today. Stay safe in the snow. We just had around a foot Saturday with 14-20 more coming tonight and tomorrow. Thanks for breakfast! Gotta head off to work. Have a good day, TDKers and stay safe.

  3. Morning everyone.
All is quiet weather wise in Cleveland at the moment, but it shows all the snow coming our way. The next two days will be snowy and windy. Everyone in this storms path, stay safe and warm.
I am still with my cold, but feeling better today..each day is a bit better. Can't taste much..I hate that..but at least I can function and do things, unlike Friday and Sat when I couldn't even breathe! Abbie still has it too but I think she is breathing better as well.
I hope everyone has a good day and doesn't work to hard. Hugs!!

  4. Hi ladies! Yes, CM the snow is coming! Did you see we live in two of the worst places to live in America for winter weather? Check out Dee's other thread! Whoo hoo!

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  5. Of course we do..I didn't see that thread...I think I will go check it out. Our cousins live near Erie PA and they get slammed every winter. I live on the west side of Cleveland and thank goodness we don't get hit as much as the east side of cleveland..it's strange but true.
I am soooooo ready for spring.

  6. Yoho Maties!

It's snowing here in Kalamazoo, so far there isn't much, but it's like tiny pellets, and it's making the roads slick.

People seem to drive so stoopidly in this weather!

I ran my important errands last night, and I put plenty of gas in my car this morning. I still have tater soup left over and I think I'll make a cheesy quick bread to go with it.

This is the recipe I got thirty-five years ago:

    2 1/2 cups Bisquick
1 cup shredded American cheese (Velveeta will be ok)
    1 beaten egg
    1 cup milk
    2 tsp. poppyseeds

Mix Bisquick with cheese and poppy seeds. Mix egg and milk well, add to dry ingredients and stir to just wet everything.

Preheat oven to 350 and grease a loaf pan. Pour batter into pan, add more poppy seeds on top and bake about 50 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, turn out on a rack to continue to cool.

You can slice the top of the loaf long ways twenty minutes into the baking and pour melted butter into the slit. Continue baking until done.

Kids might like this, it's very mild flavored.

I think you could also up the cheese content to 1 1/2 cups no problem.

  7. Oh Sio, YUMMY! I am gonna save that recipe for sure! BTW, I LOVE Baby Hermes in your avatar. Soooooo squeeeeeeeee worthy!

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  8. Morning MC! Thank you, I hope you enjoy that bread. I'd contacted the Bisquick company and Kraft to see if they had that recipe, then I found it in my mom's cookbook. My cooking teacher in high school shared that with us back in the 1970's.

Glad you like baby Hermes! He was just about a week old when that was taken. So tiny!! He cuddled with me last night for a half hour, laying on my chest and I was rubbing across his eyes. That's his favorite spot for pets.

  9. Who'd a thunk Hermes would grow up to be such a big boy???

  10. Let me know if you see my new avatar, Wilma was getting tired of Betty getting all the attention! I just switched it!

  11. Good morning! We got slammed with snow yesterday, CM and MC, so you are welcome to have it today. I had to struggle through a snowdrift to get into my house last night. This morning I managed to shovel a path to the car. The roads were a little slick this morning and we are supposed to get about another inch of snow today and gusting winds. Have I mentioned lately how much I am tired of all this snow! LOL!

  12. Hi everyone! Snow will be in my neighborhood late tonight. I'm looking forward to staying home tomorrow with hubby, Leela and a book.

  13. CM, who is your avatar? Beautiful picture!! If it is Cricket, she could be Oliver's meomy!!! I digress. Morning kitteh-meomys! Sorry it is snowy in the north and midwest! But it is winter. We are getting a new water heater as I type and the cats are bannished to the porch with ALL their toys. They still want to come into the house (the heater resides behind a panel in the closet in the master-bath)and bedevil the poor heater guy. I think I'll just have some coffee and play on the 'puter.

  15. Good Morning! What a cute pic of Wilma, MC!! And baby Hermes is a cutie also!! It's supposed to snow all day, didn't get much last night. I hope I can get out tomorrow to get groceries!

  16. UGH, SNOW! That is a FOUR letter word for sure! We have about ten inches and to get five more before lunch. Did I mention I want spring????

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  17. We're going to have snow for the next 24-36 hours here in PA, and the roads are still recovering from last Friday's Snowpocalypse (yep, that's what they're calling it)!

So, please pass the coffee, a slice of that wonderful cheesy bread, and a few tuxie bebe kittehs. The agency kittens need to be more careful with doing snow angels -- they are sooooo cute I want to take them all home with me!

Posted 1 month ago by Emma #

  18. Stay safe and warm Emma, you need to be there for those agency cuties making snow angels!

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  19. Squee! Wilma looks like she's doing a Snoopy/vulture imitation, that's just so darn cute!

Wow, those snow angel kittehs have all turned WHITE with the snow! Time to call them in to thaw before the fire and enjoy some kitteh version of hot chocolate (lol).

  20. CM, meant to tell you how cute Cricket is in your avatar!! Are you feeling back to normal, and how about Abbie??

Posted 1 month ago by katthays #

  21. Siobhan, are you getting a lot of snow down there? Ours is still pretty light but it is supposed to just keep coming down until tomorrow. Hopefully the salt trucks can stay on top of it.

  22. Morning, all. MC, love the new avatar! Hi Wilma!

We're supposed to start getting snow around 10pm and all day tomorrow - yuck! I'm hoping it does what the weekend storm did and misses us entirely.

George is still loving his new mousie, but I haven't had the heart to throw away the old one yet (silly mommy). Spoiled kitty :)

The big excitement around here today is we're getting a new mattress. It's about 7 inches taller than our present one, so it could be interesting. Georgie's going to have to figure out how to jump up on a much taller bed (and I'm going to have to figure out how not to fall out). He was beside himself when Mr. K and I took off the old mattress this morning, sniffing all around it and climbing into the space under the bed. He came out covered in dust bunnies - oops! Guess we needed the excuse to vacuum under there :)

Happy day, everyone. Stay safe and warm.

  23. Oooooh, a new mattress for GEORGIE! :)

Posted 1 month ago by katthays #

  24. Georgie, first a new mousie and NOW a new mattress! YES, that is spoiled!

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  25. Whoop! A new mattress for Georgie!!! Where are you and Mr. K going to sleep??? lol
Katt, we are feeling better. We still have the cold, but I think we are both getting better. It will be easier when Abbie learns how to blow her nose! We are both still congested but getting better everyday. Thanks for asking.

  28. Is it me or does winter seem to be getting longer and hitting harder?

    Posted 1 month ago by mollycat71 #

  29. Hi NNGM....yeah, we're getting more snow in the 'Zoo than you are in GR. It's the slippery kind...looks are deceiving!

Posted 1 month ago by Siobhan #

  30. Yes, MC....there is something to that.....they say it is from global warming....wish it meant winters would be WARMER, though!! I remember I was in the fruit/veggie section of a grocery store 2 years ago and 2 "old" men were talking, the one said that we were supposed to be in this pattern of bad winters for 5 years!!! At hearing that, I dropped my oranges, and said WHAT??! At that point I got involved in the conversation :)) And this is the 3rd bad winter, so perhaps that man knew what he was talking about...lol! Only 2 more bad winters to go!
