  1. Good morning, everyone. Didn't see the cafe open and thought I'd open it. In honor of my dad's birthday we will have a buffet of his best breakfast foods: The best every homemade homefries! Eggs of every kind, sausages (links and patties), bacon, scrapple, pancakes, waffles, toast, English Muffins and homemade biscuits with any spread you desire.

Have a nice hot cup of coffee or tea or hot chocolate, juice - freshly squeezed of course, and for our Kiwi friends iced coffee and tea!

    Enjoy!

  2. Happy Birthday Mr. A! You have excellent taste in breakfasts. May I join you in some pancakes (blueberry for me), with bacon, coffee and OJ?

Thanks for opening such a tempting buffet, Lainey.

  3. Thanks for starting the griddles going this AM Lainey! Monday Greetings from
grey M'waukee/what a better way to start the week than a cup of joe and a smooch for a kit with waves to all who stop by to have a good day!
Happy Birthday wishes for Mr. A...another birthday peep to share this short month with!

  4. Morning Kilroy, Morning JK (looks like we were both hungry at the same time!). Breakfast orders on their way to you both! My dad made the BEST homefries. We had a breakfast sale at work for a fundraiser YEARS ago and his homefries are STILL talked about today.

I'm back and forth tending to him and trying to not beat up this dinasaur of a computer. I do need to do an update email on him. He's "okay." Not great, not bad, just okay, but the important thing is he is HOME!

  6. Lainey--you have made my day!!! You can't get Scrapple here in North Dakota--they never heard of it! And I've been having Scrapple withdrawals for 2 1/2 years now---Pancakes and Scrapple for me please--and a big cold glass of milk.
Warm Birthday wishes to Mr. A.

  8. Lainey please pass on Birthday Wishes to your Dad. May he have a day with others around him that love him. May he spend the day in a little less pain and know that prayers surround him.

  9. Good morning, all! Happy birthday to Lainey's dad. It's also GG's mom's birthday and his brother's is on Wednesday, so a busy week for them.
I start working the tournament on wednesday, so a busy time coming up for me, too.
Had a nice relaxing day yesterday to gear up for all the craziness. Went to GG's in the afternoon and watched the olympics. Later we went out for dinner at a place he'd found that served a heart-shaped pizza for Valentine's Day. It was very good! I also got a card, chocolate and a dozen roses. And I thought I didn't like Vaentine's Day! I got him a card and made him brownies :)

  10. Skyron, Scrapple is one of those things sometimes better left un-explained in detail.. I guess you would call it a type of sausage-- or almost a hard pudding--it's a Pennsylvania Dutch thing. And if you didn't grow up eating it like I did, you really don't want to read the ingredients lable too closely!! He-He But you slice it and fry it up rather crisp and it's delish!!

  11. Happy Birthday Mr. A! I'll have some coffee and waffles in honor of his special day! Hope everyone is enjoying the Winter Olympics...We're so in awe of the talents and abilities of all these athletes and mourning with the family of the Luging accident. Such a young, vital young man was lost. =(

  12. A quick good morning while I have some time. I've been watching the Olympics off and on. I got to see Canada win their first gold medal as a host country at the mens mogals. That was really awesome. Saw Apollo win silver and a couple other really good competitors.
We had more snow yesterday and more snow early this morning...I would love to send ours all to Canada. They need it more than we do!

  15. Hi everyone and a very Happy Birthday to Lainey's Dad. *waiving - Hi Mr. A!*
I watched some olympics yesterday also, as well as a crazy day at the Daytona 500. How nice to see that historic moment for Canada.

  16. Good afternoon everyone!! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Lainey's dad!! So glad you can be home for your special day!! Birthday hugs to your dad!!!
It's a nice sunny day here. Have the window open for the kitties and they are soaking up that sun! My little dove friends (10) are all out laying in the leaves, sunning themselves as well under the feeder. They sure do appreciate that I shoveled all that deep snow all around under the feeder so they can eat the seeds I sprinkled there. I almost didn't see them as they blend in so well with the ground! :) Cute little guys!
I saw some of the olympics as well! I get SO excited for whomever wins! I clap abd cheer for them!! :) So much endurance and talent and I love Apolo Ono! He is cute as well as so awesome!! Hooray for the GOLD for Canada as well!!! SO exciting!!! :)

  17. For over 5 years I have been a member of TDK. I have seen us go through ups and downs. I have seen us support each other, challenge thinking, and grow together. I am so very sickened on what was posted on a thread I started to show this community that the future generation is caring, although often portrayed the other way in the media. I am sitting here in tears feeling absolutely awful because of an image put into my head. It sickens me and disgusts me. There was no reason to do that. It was rude and cruel. My career means the world to me. I am beyond words and feel violated.

  18. Happy Birthday Lainey's Dad!! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Hugs to him!!
It's still cold here, no more snow, but it should be coming soon. I am so sick of snow...I would like a bit of warmth.
I haven't been watching the Olympics. I am surprised since I usually watch at least some of it.
Hark..I hear the cries of a little monkey :) Nap time is over for one of the girls. Hugs to all!

  19. {{{SM}}} I'm so sorry you're upset. I agree with you that the post in question was uncalled for. I want to give the poster the benefit of the doubt, but it's not the first time. I suspect she's never heard the expression, "If you can't say something nice, say nothing".

  20. Thank you Kilroy. I couldn't hold down my lunch. This community has given me so many ideas for the classroom. I have never had anyone be like this--I still feel sick.

  21. How can anyone think it is okay to describe such violence to my classroom pets?
