Hi Lily,
I just wanted to tell you a few things, honey. First, 4:45 a.m. is not playtime, it’s still sleep-time. You were very cute though when you were trying to insert your face into my face. I was very flattered by your numerous, passionate head bumps. I also had to laugh when you fit your nose inside of my nose – but, that makes it hard for me to breathe, sweetheart. You should also know that people don’t like it when you put your claws in their face. Especially when their eyes are closed. I should tell you that you have very, very sharp claws – how do I know, you ask? The multiple puncture wounds on my body tell me so. I love you silly billy Lily. Let’s try to work on sleeping during sleep-time.
Love,
Me
P.S. 5:30 a.m. is still not playtime.

a little note to a little kitten

Oh, what a wonderful love letter to a baby kitten! I am so glad Lily is doing so well -- of course, she has a wonderful mama.
Congratulations, Becca. Looks like all that care and concern and love has gone to the right little scrap of fur.
I think it may be hard to just "foster" this one. Lily has made amazing strides.
and BTW, Rotley is over six years old and STILL wakens me with these little paw-pricks on my face when he feels that we need to talk. At 4:45 AM.

Aw Becca...that is sweet! Both Dot & Crockey think my bed is their bed. Crockey usually sleeps w/me til about 3 while Dot hops on & off at least 6x's! She finally comes back to settle down when my alarm goes off while Crockey is patiently awaiting breakfast in the kitchen!

Well, I'm definitely glad you all enjoyed that! We'll have to see how she does tonight... And, I agree Emma, it's going to be heartbreaking when Lily finds her forever home - but, incredibly joyful too. Kilroy, Lily does have a catster page with some more pics on it - I added you as a friend to Lily and my other two kitties. Feral, I'm afraid our kitties use a different clock than we do :P And Jeankit, my husband and I quickly realized when we got cats that the bed was no longer just ours :) Neither is the couch, or the recliner, or the shower, or the computer chair...

Great love letter, Becca! Perhaps Lily thinks you shouldn't be sleeping during play time. Now we wait and see what happens tonight...

Leela was "bowling" last night, sigh. At least she wears herself out after a while, then it's time to take over the entire bed and hubby and I wake to find ourselves clinging to the sides of the bed.

Hi Ladysky! I wish you could adopt her too. Clear Creek is a cool little operation, I'm actually pretty new to it. I've fostered three adult cats, and Lily is my first kitten foster. After Lily there's a pretty black and white girl at the pound scheduled to be euthanized on Wednesday if she doesn't have a home, so I'll rescue her next. I'm going to try to convince my mother on Sunday to adopt Lily - I'd LOVE to be able to see her as she gets older :)

Bless you Becca! Hope your mom adopts Lily!

Well, my dad said no to the adoption of Lily :(, so mom will not be adopting her. However, she's been inquired about by a couple of people up here in Alaska, so we'll see if they are acceptable for this baby of mine. She's grown so happy/comfortable in the apartment that she's climbing all over everything (including my lap!) and even terrorizing our 10 mo. old kitten Russell (the one that plays in the shower). Oh she's so precious and beautiful, I don't want to let her go. Expect a long, sad note when her forever-home adopters take her home! I should also note - apparently, Lily does not know how to read. I'll keep trying though! You never know when literacy skills might just kick in!

Loved the note to Lily, thanks Becca :)
