Things are bad, I know I need help and can't do this alone

  1. Sm, just catching up. I am sorry to hear of the latest news. Control is what you make it. I don't like losing control either, makes me crazy. You can deal with what is in front of you, as you have done in the past. Your weight is, understandably unbearable, right now. You have given so much to many, myself included. I know your strength, and I know you have the drive. You have the suppport of your many friends here and those around you. I know you will make it through this. Don't give up and hold your head high and kick butt as I know you can. You only admit defeat, when defeat has you.

And dear lady, that is not the woman I know. Times are tough, physically, emotionally and monetairly for many. But you always manage to hang on, no matter what. I expect you to continue to do so for your family, yourself and us. We need you. We are here for you, do not hestitate to ask for further assistance. You are in our prayers.

May the angles kiss you, dear lady, while you sleep. Rest well. My love to you and yours, Mama Lynn

  2. I'm one of the 'godless heathens' like Jcat but I'll be sending positive energy also. You have much overdue karma coming your way, my friend. Kia kaha!

  3. My husband got laid off on Friday, too. He's old enough to collect partial SS and he has a pension plan so we should be okay financially, but medical insurance for me is a huge worry. His company won't pay him severance or his pension unless he signs a waiver promising not to sue them for age-related discrimination, which is so obviously was.

My claim for disability was turned down again - post polio syndrome is hard to prove unless I'm actually wheel-chair bound or otherwise visibly disabled. I'm starting to think about going to one of those shyster lawyers you see on the TV.

It makes me very angry that the insurance companies can refuse me based on the PPS diagnosis but the government won't accept the problem exists.

  4. I have to laugh at the "godless heathens" part. There are a world of religions to include no religious belief--aethism. I married an aethiest who changed to something else. Was raised by a Christian Mother, who is something I could never explain--other than spiritual definitely not a specific religion. Then there is my oldest and dearest friend a Wiccan. You all know my beliefs, but I would be a loon if I thought there was only one way. Your white light and energy make all the difference in the world. I can't think of anything better than positive energy from you both! Thank you!

  5. To sign that gives away his rights, does he have time to contact a lawyer before signing? As for insurance companies they are crooks--in my opinion. CBM I agree and a lawyer might be exactly what you have to look into. Prayers that you are able to get the disability paperwork accepted soon. Timing just bites doesn't it!

  6. Oh, CBM, not more bad news for our little family. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. It hits you like a kick in the teeth, doesn't it? I'm so sorry about the insurance side of it, that stinks.

My heart goes out to you too. Many, many {{{HUGS}}}. I think legal advice is a good idea. At least you will be clearer about where you stand. Please let us know what happens.

    SM, you're very welcome :)

  7. SM, count me among the "godless heathens" who is nevertheless sending you boatloads of positive energy and hugs and wishes for things to get better.

CBM, I definitely think you should get a lawyer involved, they shouldn't be able to hold his severance pay and pension hostage like that. That just stinks.
