If your cat hurls hairballs sometimes, it is because when their fur gets in knots, it untangles and swallows the hair. If he/she swallows lots of hair, the hair inside the stomach forms into a hairball, and later the cat will throw it up. To stop this, I would recommend grooming your cat's hair to prevent him/her from untangling and swallowing more hair! Because if their are no knots, there is no hairballs.
