  1. I decided to start a thread that we can keep building on, adding on funny stories about our cats and their antics. :)
    .
Just share what your cats have been up to :)
    .
Today Sammi and Kizzie were under my bathroom sink cupboard and would randomly meow so I would peek under and they looked at me like I was odd and they were not up to anything.

  2. I would like to start with a story about my boys(there are so many; where to start??). Even though they are gone, when we re-tell stories about our departed ones, it helps keep memories alive.
Leela stories, of course, will follow!
Shaddo and Jiggs were indoor/outdoor kitties. Our back screen door did not latch properly. When he wanted to come in, Shaddo would reach under the door, pull it, and let go. It sounded just like someone knocking! A few times I would say "if you're not Shaddo, please say so, otherwise, Shaddo, I'll be right there!".
Jiggs was more cat-like in telling me when he wanted to come in. He would scratch the wood molding outside. He wore one spot out so much that the nails became an issue; he got stuck on them a few times.

  3. My Smokey (Now at the Bridge) was a treat freak.. Always begging for them. She knew where I kept them and she learned how to open the cupboard.
Well, late one evening I was all settled in for a night of TV.. Smokey meowed and meowed..TREAT! I went to the cupboard .. and it was bare!
Well, Smokey just would not let up meowing and meowing.. So I got in the car and drove to the market..and bought several bags of treats. The checker even asked me if my cat "sent me to the store"! :) I replied that she indeed had and that I would not be allowed back in the house without them!
Smokey knew what she was doing! :) I miss her.

  4. One story that comes to mind of the many with a houseful of indoor/outdoor cats, is the day that Oreo gave us all flying lessons. Oreo brings us lots of gifts and 'things' from the outdoors and presents them with great pride. This day she came through the cat door with a large bird. This in itself is not unusual for the little vixen but it seems this one was quite unharmed and when she dropped it at our feet it immediately took flight which scared the begeeezous out of us both. Suddenly everyone was running and jumping and flapping their arms and paws. Oreo was trying to recatch it, I was trying to catch her which made us both airborne and Jeff rushing to open doors and windows to free the panicked bird! It all worked out in the end, the bird flew right out the door but the look Oreo gave us as she realized we had let her prize escape was just priceless. Sooooo disgusted she was with the both of us. =)

  5. More from the memoirs of Shaddo and Jiggs...
Anyone who remembers classic Bugs Bunny cartoons may know of the one where Buggs takes on a wrestler. ("round 73") Substitute Bugs and the wrestler with Shaddo and Jiggs. Shaddo is at one end of the yard aiming himself at Jiggs as the arrow in a bow. Jiggs is at the other end of the yard getting ready to shoot himself out of a cannon. They would run at each other at top speed and clash in the middle of the back yard.

  6. velvet was the meal inspector. and what was happening in the kitchen inspector. if there was something she think she wanted, she would look sad and soulful until she got some. she never would eat mozzarella cheese, and she would beg for it without ceasing, she loved all other cheeses...

  7. Fea likes to play the Zynga games on Facebook with me. When she sees me at my desk, she climbs onto my lap and cuddles along my left forearm. Her head rests against my elbow, and I hold her back legs in my hand. She watches me play Farmville and loves to play Petville. She will bat at the movements on the screen and watch intently. Then she falls asleep. It's not very easy to do things with one hand, but I haven't got the heart to put her down, because she purrs so deeply and looks up at me ever few minutes to touch her mouth to my lips in a kiss.

  8. Squirrel tv is on most mild winter mornings so I know its mild when there are 3 cats at the window chattering because there is a squirrel eating nuts and cereal outside :)

  10. Growing up we had a cat named Winky and a dog named Rusty. They used to chase each other around the house. Finally Winky got wise and would jump on the dining room chair while Rusty was still running around looking for him. Winky would bat Rusty as he ran by! My sis's cat Snuffy would chase deer out of the yard Up North...she would gallop after them and leap in the air to chase them out of her turf!!!
