  1. It is very bittersweet to announce that Lily has been adopted. The family that came to adopt her was smitten with Lily's good looks, and promised to be patient with the skittish baby. My husband's eyes filled with tears, and had to leave when they came to pick her up. He said I'm not allowed to foster kittens anymore because he gets too attached. I'm very sad about this and I hope he changes his mind. I will miss Lily ever so much, but I'm so thankful she's got a home where she'll be loved forever. I do have to admit, I need some comforting...

  2. You and your husband have given Lily a wonderful start to a long, happy life. It would be very hard to let a foster kitten go. I hope in time you and your husband will be able to offer more kittens that chance at life. You are heroes in my eyes! :)

  3. Oh, honey, the creatures we foster make a tangle of our hearts when we have them, and when they leave, part of our hearts go with them.

We pay a price for loving. And we pay it gladly!

In just a little over two weeks, you and your husband have brought that scared sweet baby so far, and now sassy little Lilly is ready for the rest of her life.

    BRAVA!

  5. Bless your hearts! All foster parents are angels put here to help ensure kittehs get a good start in life. Maybe you want to check out some fostering websites and contact those foster parents about how they can 'let go'. Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is a wonderful site, she fosters hundreds of babies since she began.

  6. Like Siobhan said, foster parents are Angels! Bless you and your hubby for the gift you gave Lily. Hope your hubby realizes what a very special thing the two of you did and after sometime will want to do the same for other kittens who need Angels like you!

  7. Thank you all. Last night was a long night without kitten head bumps. I am still glad we did it, and I still want to do it again. We'll be getting two cats from the pound this weekend to foster, and I think that will help me and my husband. But, you're right Emma, she took a bit of my heart with her. I'll check out the website Siobhan tonight after work, maybe it'll give me ideas on how to help my husband understand that fostering kittens is still so worth it. I'll post pictures of the new cats soon :)

  8. The good thing about losing a little bit of your heart every time a loved one goes away is this: when it grows back it always grows back just a little stronger and a little bigger.

  9. Bless you for fostering, you gave her a good start in life and can pass that on to the next group. Please continue fostering. I hope to be able to do it too when we get a house in NC soon.

  11. And if our hearts were never broken, how would the light get in?

  12. Its ok! I found four 2 week old kittens in our shed. We fed them, took care of them, but eventually had to take them to the humane society. I litteratly CRIED! I hope your husband changes his mind. It was very good of you to foster. I hope you can keep making cats have better homes!!!
