Hi i was just wondering about my kitten. She is 4 months old, very sweet, cuddles alot until i brought home a 7 week old kitten. Everything about the older kitten has changed. She is hissing at the little one, it's only been 2 days now and i'm really scared that they wont get along. She has also come to me to cuddle but as soon as she sees the other kitten, her mood changes. She has growled at me and bit me as well. Is she angry at me and will she be a mean cat now?? Or will she get over this and turn back into that friendly girl that i knew before?? ( i hope so )

Hi Bonita and welcome to TDK. More will post tomorrow as it's getting late. Perhaps our Kiwi friends will chime in soon. It's been a long time since I've had a baby kitty but I would suggest giving her lots of love and attention (which I'm sure you are trying to do!) Patience is probably key here. Good luck and keep checking back.

Welcome Bonita...it sounds quite normal of your kittens. They just need some time getting to know each other better. A little patience with them will go a long ways. Be sure & give your 4 mo. old lots of extra love & cuddles & she'll in time learn that the new addition isn't a threat. But for now, your furbaby is just ruffling her feathers.

First, take a deep breath. It's only been a couple days, and these things take time. Then, you might see if you can find time each day to cuddle with your 4-month-old in a closed-off room that the younger kitten isn't in. Feral has given some good advice as well.
Think of them as small, furry, four-legged kids. The big kid who's still a baby wants to send her younger sister back to the hospital. She'll get over it eventually.

If you click on the pink tag in the upper right corner, it will take you to some past posts about new kittens. Scan through them - lots of them have something to do with getting an older kitty to accept the new young interloper.

Time to adjust, that's all that's needed. Give extra attention to the older one until she get used to the new one. She is letting the newcomer know that SHE is top cat.
