Many of our family members are under LOTS of snow (check out the Taco pix thread) so the kittehs are having comfort foods. There are stews and soups and meats/potatoes/veggies, yummy pies/cakes/brownies and cheese/crackers to snack on. The fountains are flowing and the fire is roaring. Come join us and unwind from your week. Goodness knows, I could use it!

hello. i am just finishing a knitted decorative scarf made out of a product called fun fur. looks like string with feathery wisps. and this one is bright red. 6 inches wide and 60 inches long. it didn't take long to make but would have been much quicker without the wisps as it confuses one on how many stitches you have. well anyway, it's finally done. i will be making another one before too long except it will be red and white and black and gray...
i'd love some homemade beef stew with hot cocoa and apple crisp with french vanilla ice cream. please deliver it and some purry furries to the TDK couch in front of the fireplace. it's one of my favorite places to snuggle, eat, and chat all at the same time !!! thank you !!!

Two little Persians get your order ready, put it on a tray and come over to snuggle with you. Sounds like a neat scarf, wish I was talented!

Evening MC and Cheri. I am home for a change and in pajamas!! Husband still has a job and now for the news: A SIGNED CONTRACT!! I hate to say it but I have to wonder if it is worth anything. In the meantime it buys time for him to look for other employment, me to finish school and my dossier, and to save money for the inevitable!!
Also I have to say THANK YOU TDK FAMILY!! The prayers and positive energy are keeping us going! Worried but going!

Hi MC, Cheri & SM! We're partially dug out from at least 2 1/2' of snow. Had beef stew in the slow cooker all day and I made brownies - a nice treat! Leela is lazing by the fire. We have inside lights off and outside lights on, it's so pretty; snow on everything!

LOL....
... tomorrow (if we get up at 7:30 am in the 35 degree weather) is our 5K walk, then a tea at her sorority house..... I'm so glad I came to be with her, what great mother/daugher time!.....
... oh, and Apollo Ono, just won #8!!! yay!

But Apolo got robbed in the 500!!!! He really barely touched that guy. Boo, ref!
SM, that is GREAT news! I'm so relieved for you all.
Since Mr. WWM accused me of snoring during the Olympics, I think that I am officially off to bed.
Have a wonderful evening, Everyone. And for goodness sakes, stay warm!

A long hot bath with lavender oil and then a hot milk, preferably with chocolate should help you relax SM. Sweet dreams.

It's 12.03am here in NZ, ... cool to d**n chilly in USA, and the night is hot in NZ everyday..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes...good job everyone & bless you...
check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Boxcheck - windows firmly shutfor Northern TDKers' winter and flung wide open for Southern TDKers' Summer.
Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<

Evening Jcat, I'm just sitting here listening to music until I get tired.
Tomorrow mum and I pick up her new cat Snuggles. Exciting.Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hi, MS, I felt sure you would be gone by now, but I'm glad you're not :).
Oh, how wonderful about Snuggles. That is so exciting! I bet Snuggles' old owner is humungously grateful her baby has found such a lovely new place to live. It sounds like she and your mum will be perfect together!
I had a nice time at the shelter on Friday, too, managed to match up an adorable (and very loud) little kitten girl called Kaka, who was very indignant about being in a cage in isolation with a lovely mother and son, whose previous kitten had, very sadly, been run over by a car. They had been looking at the kittens in the kitten room but weren't quite sure. So I showed them into Iso, because little Kaka was very vociferous about wanting to have a new home, and they fell in love with her as she instantly meowed at them through the wire. "Lemme out, lemme out."
I think she was quite indignant too when we put her in a cardboard carrier for the ride to her new home. There was a tremendous amount of loud crying and cross scratching from inside it. And she's only a little tabby dot!
-
Awwwwww, that's so great when things like that happen Jcat. Almost as if we Kaka was waiting for them.
Snuggles owner is very pleased that Snuggles will be on a larger property and will get the occasional feed of rabbit. Snuggles had been a farm cat for a few years.Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Hello my friends from a snow covered tundra named Cleveland:)
MS, so glad that your mom and Snuggles are going to have each other. yay!
Yay for Kaka too getting a new home :)Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

I think Kaka really WAS waiting for them, MS. Another shelter worker had been almost about to take her home but really wanted an older kitten who could hold her own against her puppy. So in the end she took a lovely older kitten called Biscuit but I couldn't bear to see Kaka disappointed (we'd been telling her she had a home). And then at exactly that moment, the mother and son turned up... And Kaka thought she was in heaven with all the snuggles and playing she was getting!
Ooh, rabbit. Will Snuggles have to catch her own or will they be provided for her? (Not much fun for the bunnies though but I know the farm cats love to eat rabbit.)

Good morning CM, how is all in the CM home? Wayne feeling better and the girls improving?

Lol @ CM with the snow-covered tundra! Good morning, CM, it's tough out there on the steppes. Sounds like you could do with a few Mongolian ponies in the garage rather than a car!
How are the girls today?
I hope you lose some of that snow asap but can't help thinking that means we're heading into winter over here... and it feels like summer's only just started!
-
Wayne is feeling better. I think the girls are improving. Maddie just got up and said she feels a little better :)
I had to go out into all this snow last night, since we NEEDED stuff. I made it, and now, I want all this white stuff to melt and go away! I am so ready for Spring.
Sorry you guys are getting winter there soon...it's nice for a while but then I get sick of it.Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

Jcat, bunny will be provided, future SIL and pest eradication evenings on farms. Ruby and Lucky also get rabbit. Snuggles used to supply her own.

Morning or late evening CM, MS, jcat :)
Head is all stuffed up and feels like I am breathing thru a very small straw, lol. Mongolian ponies, are they up for offer, I want some! No snow though, don't want the snow plows or the drivers that go with snow.

Hi Deb. I am all stuffy too. Woke up at 3:45...and stayed awake for 45 minutes, blowing my nose and trying to go back to sleep. I hope you feel better.

Awww, Snuggles, if it comes on a silver platter too, I'd say you're in for a lot of spoiling :)
CM, holey moley, you're not well either, I don't like the sound of you venturing out into the snow on your own, eek. Glad you made it back safe and sound.
Thank goodness Maddie is feeling better.
-
Good morning, Deb! That doesn't sound good, allergies or cold?
I got in a long delumpifying walk this evening. It was lovely, still very warm but with a refreshing breeze blowing.
There are plenty of Mongolian ponies for both you and CM, Deb. Might get a bit hot for them over there during the summer though...
-
jcat, I wasn't a fan of going out either, but it had to be done. I just took my time and got home safe. Then I had to unload the car and put all the stuff away. That's the part I hate.
I think we got at least 12 inches of snow.
I think my issues might be allergies...I hope. I do not need to get sick again.Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

CM & Deb, can you sit back from your screens a bit please. We don't want to catch what you have. Autumn starts tomorrow, :-(
Deb, do you have any way of easing your stuffy nose?Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #
