The kittehs would like to continue the theme from this morning's cafe. So many of our family is having a hard day today and the kittehs want to take time and honor them all. There are short orders on the grill, no full buffet tonight as Caturday's are generally slow. The fountains are flowing and kittehs are ready to comfort one and all. Please come and say hello. Many hugs go out to all who need them and are hurting tonight.

Hello from rainy California. It has been on-and-off monsooning all day: Brief periods of sunshine (even a rainbow late this afternoon) and then the floodgates of heaven opening for five or ten minutes. It seems Mother Nature is having a bad year, too: Earthquakes, snow storms, flash floods, etc. I'm happy that Mario (our jack-of-all-trades who takes care of the health of our buidling) really, finally fixed the overflowing gutter problem outside our spare room. No more floods, damp carpets and frantic phone calls for the wet/dry vacuum. If there's a tuna melt, tomato soup and hot chocolate on the grill, I'lll have some -- that's comfort food.
How are fellow TKDrs doing? Especially those in the snowy east?

GA, its really dreary here in the midwest. We weren't supposed to get any snow thru the end of NEXT week. I get up, get the birdseed, go out to feed the birds and IT'S SNOWING! Go figure! I am spending the weekend really resting up and trying to get over this urinary tract infection. I am thinking I am gonna need another round of meds, not quite where I need to be. Girls are good, been playing like kittens all day. Glad things are fixed at your place.

Hello, MC. UTI's are the pits aren't they? And even worse when you've got other things going on. I'm feeding birds, too. Have a small mixed flock of sparrows and American finches that come every winter along with the indigenous Mourning Doves, crows, pigeons and mockingbirds. We've even spotted a couple of ravens in the neighborhood and, rarest of all, a pair of banded pigeons. These are the pigeons with yellow feet and beaks, bigger than their city cousins. Oh, and a squirrel who drives Sophie nuts. He runs along the porch, and, with our floor to ceiling windows, she can see him all the time but can't get at him. Occasionally, she forgets and throws herself at the window, resulting in a minor sonic boom.

Oh yes, I have squirrels too. Betty and Wilma think he is dinner and do the heave themselves at the window routine. All it does is make a loud noise and the squirrel sits there and laughs at them. He knows by now they can't get him and keeps coming back to annoy them!

Goodnight all, I saw the men's four man bobsled and the USA men won! What a great win! I am so excited, that is my favoritist sport in the Olympics. I am able to go to bed now that that is over. Hope you all have a good night and sleep tight.

Hi GA & MC if you're still here. Pretty much dug out but our street is still messy; the plow couldn't get thru so I guess they gave up. I've been enjoying the birds too. It has been impossible to get to the feeder for the past 2 days so I've been throwing scoopfulls of seed out for them. I enjoy attempting to identify all the types that visit!
