  1. Happy Sunday one and all. To celebrate the closing ceremonies at the Olympics, the kittehs are having a feast fit for TDK'ers. A fully loaded breakfast plus prime rib, shrimp cocktail, chicken cordon bleu, turkey, potatoes, veggies, salads, cheese/meat tray, fruits, yogurts, desserts galore and of course, champagne flowing from the fountains. Each kit is dressed in clothing representing a different country in honor of the final day of competitiion. Please stop by and say hello!

  2. Hello! Wow, what a colorful array of agency kittehs - they look wonderful in their costumes representing all countries! Look at that longhair stuffed into a skin, er, fur-tight bodysuit!
We just had french toast, yummy! However, I must come back and have a bit of shrimp cocktail, chicken cordon bleu and whatever else catches my eye. In the meantime, I'll have a mimosa!
Good Sunday Morning! (it's still snowing)

  3. Joan, are you ever gonna get dug out from all that snow???

  4. It's crazy, MC! We missed one of the storms that hit the DC area, but this one made up for that. My brother lives around there and sent a pic of his son standing on what must be a 30' pile of snow - you can barely see his house behind him! Our lake community roads are really narrow and the plows couldn't get in so it's sort of a bobsled community at the moment! We got at least 2 1/2 feet. That's not including what was already on the ground - we keep getting these little storms every few days that dump 4-5 inches. I've been inside for 4 days. I don't get cabin fever; home is where I like to be. I'm always ready for a storm so we've had plenty of food, milk, munchies, etc. Oh and CAT FOOD!!! I even had meals planned in case of power failure (I can put things on the woodburner and I keep a stockpile of paper products), but so far it only went out once for about 10 minutes.
Hehe, in no time, we'll be whining about the heat!

  5. Morning, MC and Joan! I'm going to be a bit sad to see the Olympics end. There was a funny article in our paper this morning written by a young lady who is local. It was about how to make the sport of curling more interesting. She suggested, among many other things, that the athletes drink beer while curling and that they use a frozen turkey to curl instead of a stone. LOL! I must say that I find curling about as exciting as watching a box of rocks.

It's overcast here and the weatherman mumbled a bit about rain. He knows better than to get our hopes up. In any event, it's going to be a quilting day for me.

  6. Hi WWM! I agree, I really enjoy the Winter games. I like them better than summer. I was so happy to see men's bobsled win the gold last night. Joan, I am glad you have what's important, CAT FOOD! We know Miss Leela needs to eat!

  7. Yeah, the bobsled was awesome! I liked watching the exhibition skating, too. I really like the winter olympics because Mr. WWM and I used to ski - we were avid about it. Sadly, the skiing isn't too good in West Texas :-( But I like the summer olympics, too, because I used to be a distance runner. When we lived back East I took ice skating once and it was a disaster. They make it look so easy and it is anything but!

  8. No good skiing in Texas, I can't imagine! I am starting a touch of a headache so I have taken some meds, have a beautiful Betty on my lap and am gonna watch the final day of the Olympics! Check back a little later!

  9. Quite a spread, and the kits look wonderful in their country costumes. I missed the bobsled finals while at my dinner party.... I have always thought that curtling probably STARTED when some guys grabbed a frozen turkey and some brewskies, and went out on the lake somewhere in the norhtland! Or maybe some depressed Swedes or Norwegians came up with it during their interminable winters! No winter sports at all in SE Lousiana! Altho they did try to keep an outdoor ice rink going one winter in City Park - it was fun! when it wasn't melting!

  10. I actually watched the curling yesterday and even googled how the scoring works! (Please send help!). At least the Norwegians brightened the game up with their fancy pants. And some of the young players were eye-candy!

  11. Mr MS and I have become 'hooked' on the curling. Really great game to watch. We loved the Norwegians fancy pants and their jackets were even louder!

  12. I love curling, but am currently watching the ice hockey final. Canada are 1 - 0 up. The second period has just started.

  13. Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Posted 1 year ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  14. Hi there!. Canada now 2 - 0 up, 11 minutes to play in the second period and the US have a powerplay.

  15. Helllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooo back!

  16. There is a certain amount of ill-feeling obvious in this match.

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  17. I see what you mean PM, just turned the TV on.

    Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  18. It's probably the closest thing to a local derby you can get in the Olympics!!

Posted 1 year ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  19. This is like Everton v Liverpool without the friendly spirit! It's 2 - 1 now.

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  20. I've noticed whenever those two countries play each other there is quite a bit of rivalry obvious. Very much like when NZ and Australia play each other.
PS, NZ defeated Aus in a Twenty/20 international game last night.

    Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. Yes, indeed. There is a certain rivalry about the US vs. Canada!

    Posted 1 year ago by mollycat71 #

  22. Well done NZ! Everyone wants to best the Aussies!

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  23. I think the problem that I have with curling is that I don't much care for anything that involves brooms and sweeping.......

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. Does Hazel curl? Maybe that is where she has been.......

    Posted 1 year ago by mollycat71 #

  25. Chuckling at PM's comment.
WWM, I have to agree with MC, about Hazel.

  26. OMG! USA Men's Hockey team scored!

    Posted 1 year ago by mollycat71 #

  27. Drat, now I have to stay up late to see the result. I apologise to my US friends, but I do want Canada to win. That's probably the kiss of death though - all "my" teams have lost this weekend.

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  28. Ah, PM! Maybe the US will win now that you wished for Canada to win!

    Posted 1 year ago by mollycat71 #

  29. Almost certainly. It's "golden goal" now. The first one to score wins.

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  30. Canada have won!
