  1. Don't you just hate the effect a mother's visit still has on us, even at our age. Why should I apologise for the way I like to live, I'm an adult and the Mistress of our house, yet I still dash around and fret when I know Mum is coming around.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I wonder if I have that effect on Meegz when I visit her, somehow I suspect not.
You and your Mother have a good weekend Jcat, be a bit naughty and giggle like young girls. It's good for the soul.

  2. JCAT, sounds like a busy week for sure but your Mum is visiting and that is a good thing.

MS, only wish that the walking was making me lose weight, I feel better but the weight isn't budging for love or money.

  3. Don't worry, MS, we will.

Well, partly I'm mortified at being such a slob but partly it's also practical. My mum has a balance problem and if I leave stuff all over the floor of every room, like it is now, she is going to trip and fall. To tell the truth, sometimes I trip and fall too...

But, yes, my mum knows her daughter is the messiest woman in town...

  4. It's early days yet, Deb :) I just keep telling myself that muscle is heavier than fat and that's why the scales aren't yet on the downward slope...

  5. Same here, until the later years my Mum had an immaculate house. Can't say the same for mine, if there are a couple of dishes in the sink I don't have a heart attack like she would have done.

  6. LOL at you two, we sound very similar.

  7. It's a sad affliction, MS. And most of the time housework just seems like a waste of time...

By the way, on 9-Noon tomorrow, on National Radio, they're doing an interview with that doctor who works with the hospice cat (Oscar, is it?) who sleeps on the beds of dying patients, in case you want to listen, or download it for later.

  8. Because it gets untidy again and you have to clear it all away yet again. I don't know who does the untidying in our house but I really suspect we might have pixies. Lots of pixies.

  9. lOL, I always tried to justify to my Mum about making the bed when you just got back in it again!

I want to get the book that the doctor wrote about Oscar, reading Homer's Odyssey now about a blind cat and his hoomin.

  10. Ha, I have fairies in my house who I am sure mess up the place, the cats have said it wasn't them.

  11. Hehe, pixies and fairies, I'll believe you, thousands wouldn't ;-)

I see the Australian security service is advertising for spies on Facebook:

  14. Then there is the things that just disappear and reappear at a later date, That's the Borrowers. Ever read the book? Delightful indeed.
Time I was heading off to bed now. HRH is still outside hunting mice. She brought on in yesterday morning right after eating breakfast. There was much bumping and thumping as she chased it around the room, then it went quiet. we look out at her and she was licking her lips. Guess she ate it.
Goodnight my friends, sweet dreams when you get to bed and chin scritches to The crew and Libs & Jasper.

  15. Nighty-night, MS, sweet dreams, I will be following you soon. Scritches to the mighty mouse-hunter! Yes, I read the Borrowers, Mary Norton, lovely books :)

Deb, that is so sad, I don't understand paramedics who wouldn't walk to a sick man but expected him to walk through the snow to him. Sad, too, because I think Pittsburgh is a beautiful city, I spent a month there when my friends were studying at Carnegie-Mellon. Sad that they could let someone down like that.

A certain silver grey tabby just clambered up the rosebush, she sounds like an elephant, you'd never guess she was such a skinny Minnie when she gets in...

  16. G'night my friends, sleep well and hope that you both enjoy tomorrow....scritches to HRH, Jasper and Libs in the morning.

I don't understand the EMS personnel either, PA has gotten a bad reputation for emergency calls in the last few years.

Time I was off too, nighty-night Deb, sleep well when you get home, headbonks to the Crew for me and enjoy your day and your walk :)
