   Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself, Kit, and my little lady Soda. Soda is a 4 month old domestic short hair who spent her early days at the pound before being rescued by a cat shelter, and then adopted by yours truly when she was 9 weeks old! She's a crazy littly thing who is currently attacking the words on the screen as I type, but I really don't know what I'd do without her!

   I come from a very pro-dog/anti-cat family, so rather than boring my kin with my various kitten tales, I've come to share them with people who are likely to be a little more receptive :D

   I'm a new cat owner too so I'm looking forward to all the advice and knowledge I can get into the inner workings of Soda's crazy little head!

   Hi Kit and welcome to TDK. Glad you've found us and we'd love to share your stories about little Soda. (Interesting name - what's the story behind that?) I see you are an Aussie - there's a couple of others who post semi-regularly. I'm a Kiwi and the other ones you may encounter tonight are Moonshadow (who is my older sister) and Jcat. There are a couple of regular topic threads that you may see each day - one generally has Cafe in the name eg.todays was called Sunday Closing Ceremonies Cafe, and the other is the Nightshift (or NS). These are general chat threads where people post about a range of things. Feel free to jump on in. A lot of the American/Canadian TDKers (as we tend to refer to ourselves) participate in the Cafe and Nightshift and generally we Antipodeans finish off the Nightshift. The other thing you may find interesting is that if you click on our avatars (pictures to the left) they often will take you to a Catster page with more info about our cats. A Catster page is free and easy to setup. Anyway, we're a friendly nutty bunch and if you have any queries about the site or cat issues someone will help!

   Hi, Kit, I'm Jcat, what part of Oz are you from? I'm in the Wairarapa but a Wellington girl originally. I have two cats, Jasper and Libs, both rescues. Soda looks like an absolute sweetie, looking forward to hearing more about her :) Welcome to TDK.

   Hi kit, I'm Moonshadow, the wonderful older sister that KapitiKats (KK) spoke of. I live in the North Island. I love your cats name, do tell us the story behind that. It's great to see another Antipodean posting here. My avatar is our cat Moonshadow(Shadz or HRH) and at the moment she is outside hunting mice. I look forward to hearing more from you Kit.

   Hello im Chey, have 3 wonderful cats. The youngest adopted me when I found her shivering near my door on a snowy and windy December evening. Poor little girl was hungry and needed a home. Not only did she adopt me but my older two cats adopted her immidiatly :)

    hi, i am the slave to Spice, a fun loving and loving 13 year old pure black main coon mix runt, 13 lbs.

    i recently put my best buddy, Velvet, to sleep on September 12, 2009. she was 17 years old, and a pure black half siamese. she had been diagnosed with end stage kidney failure 6 months before she died, and the evening before i put her to sleep she had a stroke or threw a clot which paralyzed her back legs and poop function. i miss her very much...

    Welcome to TDK -- you've happened on the best internet site in existence! Soda is a lovely little thing, and how did that pretty creature get her name?
