  1. Today in 1933, the cinema classic King Kong first premiered in theatres. One of the defining films of early American cinema, the giant ape and his ascent of the Empire State Building is one of the most well-known scenes in movie history.

    Children's author Theodor Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss, was born today in 1904. His use of fantastical settings and simple melodic rhyming poetry would catapult his work into schools and children's imaginations.

    Said to come in like a lion and go out like a lamb, the month of March takes its name from Mars, the Roman god of war. Originally, March was the first month of the year. On this date in 1933, the classic film King Kong opened at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

  4. OH NO...KING KONG IS ON THE LOOSE! Boy, that was a freightening movie as a kid for me! I'm a little too old for Dr. Seuss but that sure is a well known/liked series!
