MC, Have him settle in on the couch with something he likes to watch and take a nap with your head on his lap. Together time and you get to sleep! We are having a beautiful sunny day today and we might actually get in the 60's this weekend! Too bad I have to work all weekend, but I will take some time to get out in the warmth!

Morning, Everyone! Big hugs for our feeling poorly littermates!
I had to take Mr.WWM to the airport this morning. Thank goodness he is going to Virginia to see his mom because they are putting her on hospice today and I just don't think it will be long. I miss him already but I'm so glad that he went.
My day is going to be so off because I got the the gym late. I'm such a creature of habit!

I am glad Mr. WWM can go see his mom before she passes.
Who will you cook for WWM, while he is gone? I think you should freeze all that yummy food you cook and send it to me. lol
Kykat..you better get out and enjoy the 60 degree weather..that's like short/t shirt weather after this cold!
MC, sorry you are still feeling crappy and hope FF and you can relax and maybe he can help you feel better.Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Hi, CM! I have a dirty little secret ;-) When he's gone I tend to eat junk food!

It's fun for a little while, Kilroy. But I get very "Mr. WWM sick" when he's gone. :-(

I am torn when Wayne is gone...I like a little of me time, but I do miss him. Although, he's only been gone a night so it's not like I have a chance to miss him too much :) Then again with the kids, I don't have a chance to do anything...lolPosted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

{{{POP}}} I rather enjoy my time alone, although this time I do have to admit that I actually felt a tad lonely! I don't eat junk, but I eat anytime I want to! Poor Mo....I was hanging something up and the hanger fell and hit him on the back and he was astounded and so scared.....took me awhile to make him know how bad I felt :)

I like my alone time, but I also miss my hubby when he's away at shows on the weekends.
When I'm the one going out of town, I have had to caution him "Now don't eat too much CRAP this weekend" but now that he has gall bladder problems, he's not eating the crap with fat anymore.

Hubby is away today; he only left yesterday and he will be back this evening. He got the fire going before he left as I was home on a sick day. Much appreciated - Leela appreciated it too! I sometimes eat junk, or just eat if I'm hungry. Often it's a bowl of cereal or an egg sandwich or my personal fav, mashed potatoes!

My school is crazy right now with protest / a walk out. There were I'd say nearing 500 students (idk I keep changing my estimate - it's so hard to guess. I just checked a webpage that said 500 and growing as it goes on), carrying signs in the school, chanting, and on the verge of rioting inside the building from about noon til 2 PM. Then at 2 they held a walk out and walked out of the building. They wanted everyone to be forced to "walk out" so people were pulling fire alarms left and right. They went off 3 times. The fire trucks kept having to come for nothing. There has already been an arrest. There were literally like 70 police men at my school for this. They shut down every escalator, checked ID's to get to class (I've never had to use my student ID in my life at school), and all kinds of other stuff. I'm glad to be back home! My 3rd class actually got cancelled because nobody could get to class who wasn't already inside the building since the police for some reason blocked the floor my class was on. PS- this is inside a tiny, two building campus in the middle of a city. Yikes

It's apparently a "day of action" and they are "taking a stand against the ongoing attack on public education" along with a couple other schools across the country. The protest is about being against the cuts being carried out by the state government. At one point they stopped letting any and all students into my college who weren't already inside after they left the building. People wanted to get back inside to recruit more students to walk out but the police said nobody can go in at all. I'm so glad to be home. I had a test in my 2nd class and the fire alarm went off twice during my test because of the kids pulling it

"Within the last 2 years, the state has cut $172 million from CUNY's budget and tuition was just raised 14% last fall. Now Governor Patterson is proposing another $104 million in cuts to CUNY, including $21 million in salary and benefit reductions for CUNY employees. Patterson also wants to cut TAP financial aid and give the Board of Trustees the power to raise the tuition every year" is the main thing they are protesting against.
-
I agree. I agree with what they are protesting and don't think the education cuts plus raise in tuition is fair. However, I think the things they were doing was completely the WRONG way. Some of the chants they were saying were COMPLETELY rude and had nothing to do with what they were protesting at all (" f*** the pigs! f*** the police!") . Pulling the fire alarms was unnecessary and a waste of precious time and money to have the fire department come. It's a waste of the city's budget to have to bring in all these police men and is unfair to disrupt the people who really DO need to get to class. It shouldn't have gotten to the point where people started to get arrested.
-
Oh well, at least nobody (that I know of) was hurt and I hope the protests do end up helping. I see right now on the NY Times front page that a CA school is doing the same thing. Apparently hundreds of colleges and even some elementary / middle / highschools are having walk outs and protests today over the same reasons

When I got home I couldn't find Taco anywhere. Turns out he was in his cat carrier. What was he doing in there? He was all curled up and sleeping. He usually runs to the furthest corner when he sees it come out. Weird.
Feeny is at the window chirping at a bird.
Time for dinner soon; I can't decide what to cook
