Memory Boosting Super Foods
(6 posts)-
This is a really suspicious article. No definite statements made. Everything is that such and such food "may" improve memory. That just means no one has ever studied whether it does or not, so they'll just protect their unfounded opinions with "may."
"Eggs contain choline, which helps the body make the brain chemical acetylcholine; people short on acetylcholine seem to have trouble remembering."
But there's nothing written about the effects of acetylcholine for people who already have normal levels of it. I'm not expert, but from my understanding excessive amount of acetylcholine actually inhibit the acetylcholine receptors because they depolarize the receptor synapses (though the effect is short term). It probably has no effect either way, but that's not what they're implying in this article. What an embarrassment that anyone would publish this stuff, when they are obviously just making things up based on their intuition.
