  20. God Bless your best friend, Rainingwolf. Your Mom is in my prayers and I wish for a speedy recovery. At 93, I'm sure she will want to get out of the hospital asap. My Mom's 83, and although she was only in the hospital for a couple of days a while back, they seemed to drag on for her.

  25. Thank you all so much for the prayers-I am sure they helped! Mom had her surgery this morning. They removed a foot of her bowel and the doctor said it "was a mess in there", and had she waited any longer it might have ruptured. She had been in the hospital nine times for this, always afraid of having the surgery and saying "no". This time Victor and I and my son Solomon really tried to talk her into having the surgery--and this time she listened, thank God. I thank the power of TDK prayers!! The surgeon did nick the bladder by accident (easy to do given the given the state she was in?) and will require more rehab time-maybe a month-instead of 2 to 3 weeks. The good news is that all the pain and pooping was caused by adhesions from an old pelvic surgery. There were NO signs of tumors or cancer. Since all of her 8 sisters had died of cancer, I am sure she was afraid of having that as well, and that is why she kept saying no to the surgery. Anyway, all will be well now, and Victor and I appreciate your prayers and we are on top of the world!!!

  26. Yay Mom RW! We LOVE you and you will keep getting better every day. Ginger, rehab for a surgery like your mom's will take about a month simply due to the pain that she will experience while healing. Not sure what kind of shape she was in before but she will be filling amazing a month from now. From a therapist who works in geriatrics, she is in good hands. Prayer from this group is amazing!

  30. Just a quick update: Mom was doing so well after her surgery, then yesterday she had a sudden huge increase in painShe rated it an 8 on a 1-10 scale, and even with a shot of dilaudid it did not go away or even lessen. X-rays showed that there was a hole in her colon which had opened up after the surgery. So, they had to go back in and either repair the hole or cut out another section of the colon, They opted for the latter and Mom was again in surgery. She is now resting fairly comfortably, but it has been a rough few days for all concerned.
Nay I ask once more for the strong TDK prayers? This second surgery has really drained her energy and she is worried that she will not regain her strength. I told her that she needs to take it slow, but the Doctors have said she WILL recover, but she is really fighting depression now. And frankly, so are Victor and I, but we know that ours is just from sheer exhaustion and not getting enough sleep or rest while trying to help her through this. She is so feisty and even at 93 she is not someone you would choose to tangle with! I loveher so dearly, and am hoping if TDK prayers get storming the gates of heaven, she will recover more quickly and regain her good spirits!Blessings to all of you from a grateful Ginger & Victor. (Sorry for any typos in this-I have been up for 36 hours and am finally on the way to bed!)
