  1. Stopping in for a warmer...Oh Willow, my smpathy to you, Mr WW and your family on the passing of his mother. Yes, my mom & sis both passed when no one was around. I believe it is a "personal"/heaven's decision. Sending special prayers of Peace/Strength to you at this time. Now, where did I put my coffee cup?!

  2. It's over here JK. You might want to freshen it up a bit; that tiger kitty just had his face in it - unless you like to drink cat hair, that's your prerogative!
So sorry to hear of Mr. WWM's Mother's passing. If I happen to see that no good Hazel, I'll send her cackling butt to your place so you can have more time with Mr. WWM. (not counting on it, but it's worth a try)

  3. Hahahaha Joan, I was wondering what on earth...my tongue felt kinda fuzzy & I haven't had a drink (yet) today!!! Sshh no laughing at W__k!

  4. I've been trying to clean house a bit to distract me but there's a slight breeze today of around 40 mph. That means that large chunks of New Mexico are currently drifting overhead which means - dust. So really, what's the point?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  5. WWM, I find very little point in dusting! Hazel hasn't been to my house lately either. I had to shift my lazy slef yesterday and do my own laundry! Shock and horror! Tonight I absolutely have to clean my kitchen before the health department comes and shuts me down! Ok it is not that bad, but it feels that way sometimes.

It is a glorious day here in the Heartland. 67 degrees, blue sky and a light breeze. For lunch, I took a walk, grabbed a sandwich from a new deli and then sat on a park bench and soaked up some solar power (yes, I am wearing SPF 30) while I nommed 1/2 a turkey sammie on croissant. I watched little birds taking dust baths in the flower beds and could hear the occasional cry from our resident seagull population and for a while all was bliss. Then I had to head back to W**k and there went the 60 minute vacation. We're getting rain the rest of the week, so I had to enjoy while I could. I hope all my TDK friends can eke out a 60 minute, or at least 20 minute vacation this week!

  6. OK.. I totally missed breakfast. W__k has been busy this morning !

WWM - my most sincere condolence to you and Mr WWM. When my ex lost his mom(3 wks after losing his dad) he said he felt like an orphan. :(

Yea to GD on joining LA Fitness and swimming ! I haven't been to the gym since Feb 1 ... and I feel it !

Hugs and positive energies to all ....

Hula continues to frustrate me today. Working on kaheas (call outs) today at work - when I can between other stuff. My lips and tongue just don't seem to be cut out for the Hawaiian language! Sounds great.. in my head !

  7. It is a glorious day here in joisey! I went out to run an errand on my lunch break and muttered to myself "how can I possibly come back?". I did come back, of course - sucker, er, soldier that I am. Upon walking in the door, however, the receptionist tells me I should have just stayed out; we're having a fire drill. Sooo, went back outside for the fire drill a few minutes later. Got a few minutes of vitamin D on my face today!

  8. Another mad Monday...but I am starting to make some headway with the backlog. There is just so much to DO!!!

  9. Sounds like a beautiful day Joan. We are overcast and chilly today. Headed for sunny and warmer for the weekend... but gonna be chilly in between !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  10. WWM, I'm sorry about Mr WWM's mum...give him a hug from me.

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  11. The weather here is great, too - sunny and in the low 70s.
There isn't much of a chance of me working out at the gym - apart from the swimming - I just really never liked it much. I would only be able to do arms and shoulders anyway, nothing that affects the hips at all, and it's amazing how many exercises do.
But if I swim an hour 4 times a week, that's good, too!

  12. MCW, you are one busy busy girl...try to take some time for you!
It's actually 50 or so degrees here and when the girls get up from their naps, I told them we will go for a walk, fresh air and get some ice cream. We have a shop right down the street.

  13. Swimming is excellent GD. Great for the joints -- gotta love the buoyancy provided by the water! No stress.

  14. CM, yesterday I was quilting and watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. So many of those seem to be in Cleveland, but yesterday he was at the Park View Inn and it really did look a bit like a dive. But wow - the food looked awesome! Have you ever heard of it?

  15. Love watching DD&D! That's what I missed the most when Food Network was pulled back in January.
Spent some time outside over the weekend, but there's still too much snow to do much of anything so I shoveled a path to my chair and cleared it off so I could lounge on it. With the sun reflecting on the snow it felt really good with one exception - no Jiggs! He loved when I sat in that chair in chilly but sunny weather. He would sit on my lap, giving me that extra layer of warmth. He got a massage, and I got to pet his luxurous long fur, warmed by the sun. Together, we had each others company as we took the time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the great outdoors.
Have I mentioned that I want to do absolutely nothing when I retire except sit in a chair with a cat? :D

  16. I used to swim all the time GD, the gyms around here are too expensive for me - I have not been swimming in years. I dragged my butt to the gym this morning with Ireland in June as my motivation. Did you know there are 600 steps up to the monastery at Skellig Michael? Finally something to keep me on that dang stairmill machine! We had a lovely weekend here and today is just as nice - almost 60 degrees and sunny.

  17. WWM, we saw that one too, and have no idea where that is, but that food did look really good!!!
Just went for a walk with the girls and got soft serve ice cream.yum! Took the long way home and it was so nice.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  18. CM, how lovely to get out and take a walk with the girls...and the ice cream is nice, too. I stopped at McDonald's on Saturday and got one of their shamrock shakes. I love their mint flavoring.

  19. TM, I have been to Ireland twice and loved it! Happy to chat about all things Ireland.

CM, your walk and icecream with the girls sounds heavenly! How is Fishie feeling? Give them both a hug from me!

  20. Mr. K and I were just talking this weekend about wanting to go back to Ireland. Of course, the list of places we want to go to but haven't yet keeps growing, so it's hard to think about going back to somewhere we've been. Oh, but we love them so much, like Ireland and Oxford.

*sigh* I really need to win the lottery so I can quit my job. If we wait to do most of our traveling until my full retirement age (70), Mr. K will be 96. Gotta do it now.

  21. Hi all, just getting around to the cafe, anyone here? Had a looooooooong day getting ready for all the changes coming with medicare on Oct 1st. We are doing a time study now to see how it will effect us, more like a "mock" of the coming changes. It certainly is taking my time. I think I am getting a cold, my throat hurts. But on a positive note, I worked out for the first time in over TWO YEARS today, almost killed me though. Found muscles I had forgotten about. Yikes, hope I can move tomorrow!

  22. Hi MC *waving madly* hope you didn't over do on the workout ! Gotta start slow. :)

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  23. Hi MC!

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  24. Trust me, it was VERY SLOW! LOL Betty and Wilma hid under the bed, they didn't know what the heck meowma was doing!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  25. Absolutely slow, MC. Sore throat (you know what I'm going to tell you)..... gargle with water as hot as you can stand it with two aspirin dissolved in it and about a tablespoon of salt. Gargle every two hours if possible.

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  26. Good for you MC. I haven't done an organized workout in a while; snow shoveling seems to be the workout of the season...

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  27. Oh boy, WWM, I am like you I have NO SALT in my house. Are the two aspirin enough?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  28. Good for you for working out, MC!! Don't overdo it (you know that), but good for you!

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  29. You need the salt in the water, MC.

The gym around here are expensive, too, TM, but since I cancelled my cable and internet (which was more than 2.5 times the price per month of the gym membership) I'm treating myself :)
