Prayers, please...

(16 posts)
  1. A friend of mine (her name is Didi) has a cat (Lexy). Lexy had surgery 6 weeks ago because of tumors on her intestines. She was fine for a few weeks, but then her condition worsened again. She refuses food, had severe diarrhea, and lethargic.

Ultrasound shows that she has a very bloated kidney with thick vortex, fluid and gas in intestines, and holes in her liver. The kidney itself fills up the stomach, so that she has no appetite at all.

She is now being handled by one of the best doctor in the country. Even so, treatments will be hard and long.

Pls keep Didi and Lexy in your prayers... Lexy is a sweet, good-natured 2-year-old Ragdoll-mix cutie. Right now she barely weighs 5 pounds.

  14. Thank you for the well-wishings... My friend Didi sends her warm toughts and gratefullness too. She's going through a hard time, because Lexy is special to her.
The vet said that Lexy has cancer/tumors that have spread all over her body. He doesn't want to put more medicine into Lexy. Aside from the kidney, intestine, and liver disorder, she also has a very low BUN and creatinine level.

If anyone knows of any herbal remedies that might be useful for lexy, pls let us know.
Also, any suggestion on what food she should take will help too. The vet only suggested that she is fed baby food. And googling suggested that she eats prescription diet a/d, which I personally don't agree, because I'm afraid the fillers in a/d will not be good for lexy's digestive system? But of course I'm note certain about my opinion. So pls, if anyone could help it would really help.

    Thank you

  15. One more thing, is steamed fish or steam chicken fine for lexy?

  16. How sad about Lexy. I was told by my vet that the a/d script food is a very moist food which they give to cats that won't eat or that are in the hospital, he said it is very palatable. And he also said the wet kitten food might be more desirable to a sick cat than regular wet. Baby food sounds like it would be easy on her tummy. Hugs to Lexy and DiDi!
