Where's the Night Shift? 3/8

(17 posts)
  1. Wow, it's almost past Night Shift time and we don't have a night shift.
Fountains are flowing and there is light snacks on the table. We don't want to eat too much before heading to bed.
There is left over Birthday cake from Susie and KK's birthdays.
I'm sitting here waiting for Mr MS to return home from a day out watching a cricket test, Australia v NZ. Unfortunately we lost this game and the Aussies lead the series 2-1.

  2. Evening Jan, working my tail off here and had to stop for a min or two. So Mr. MS went to watch the cricket test, what fun did you have today?

  3. Oh I just did stuff at a much slower rate, went and saw Mum and Snuggy, had Subway for dinner and then did 10km on the elliptical machine, 3km in reverse and now my a**e cheeks are a tad sore. I have decided I'll try and do 10km every day now until the "W" day.
I hope they don't work you too hard tonight.

  4. Hi, Deb and MS, wow, MS, you are really working out! I hope KK had a magnificent birthday.

I went into Wellington today, had lunch with my friend from Christchurch, which was lovely and took the opportunity to see the Pompeii exhibition at Te Papa (the national museum). It has beautiful objects, statues and things from Pompeii and Herculaneum, a short three D film about what the last day of Pompeii would have been like and some of those haunting plaster casts of victims caught in the lava.

Our train home was late (so what else is new) and now I am yawning like a trouper...

Very sad to hear of HM's loss of Mavvy.

  5. It was sad to hear of HM's loss of Mavvy :(

Dang Jan, you are really working out, keep it up!!!! Sounds like a good day though with seeing your Mum and Snuggy :)

Jan, how lovely to see your friend and have lunch. The Pompeii exhibition had to be great. I was lucky and got to go there for a class while I was stationed in Italy, very somber but fascinating at the same time.

  6. Oh and we are doing the shhhhh routine here, not trying to jinx ourselves at all so we aren't mentioning the 'w' word, lol :)

And it did finally stop raining right before I left the house.

  7. Evening Jcat, you have had a fun filled day, lunch, museum and the usual late train service.
It was very sad to read of Mavvy's Bridge crossing. My heart is very heavy for HM.
Just had a txt from Mr MS, garbled but I think they are 30 minutes from home.

  8. Yay, he will soon be tipped out onto your doorstep by his oh-so-considerate friends, MS, with a hearty blow of the horn!

Deb, evening, okeydoke, I won't mention the 'w' word, lol. Oh, you're so lucky to have seen Pompeii, I have always wanted to go there, but this exhibition (which came from that museum via Australia) is the next best thing.

Lunch was lovely. I even indulged in a Pimms and lemonade -- yummy! (Trying not to think of the extra walking that will involve...)

10 k a night, MS! It's a great goal but please don't push it too hard, you don't want to pull any muscles or strain anything before the wedding, that would be disastrous!

  9. I think I had better wish you both a goodnight as when Mr MS gets home I will be needed to pour him into bed. This has not been a dry trip and I think I'll have my hands full. I have an appointment for my annual eye check up early in the morning too and require him as driver as I will most likely have drops put in my eyes.
Oh, I hear the van, a thump and a toot. He's home. ! ! So much for 30 minutes.
    Nighty night
