Foggy Morning Breakfast Cafe Tuesday March 9

(77 posts)
  1. Yow! It's a foggy morning here! Kittehs are driving with extra care, and the cafe lights shine brightly through the fog.

We have breakfast from Bob Evans and Panera this morning! Nummy smells waft through the door as you open it, and a tumble of orange kittens wait for laps to snuggle on!

  2. Morning Sio! *whifs the air* yummmmmmmyy..... Bob Evans! I'll take a hashbrown casserole with bacon please!.....

should be a beautiful day here, sunny & low 70's.......

.....laughing this morning, I got a call from Son, our housekeeper, to whom he gave Nef (the pot bellied pig) is getting married this weekend, and NEF is in the wedding!...... I think he said she is to be the ring bearer!!!.... LOL.... this woman has all kinds of animals - she bought Nef a sister, she has 3 dogs, a half dozen cats, goats, a few cows - she lives on a 4-acre parcel out in the rural part of Hillsborough County..... that should be one interesting wedding!

  3. Hi AV! (waves) Oh, how funny, that pig in the wedding! I bet it's adorable!

I think you'd asked me who was in my avatar last week...it's my baby Hermes, just a week old :-)

Yesterday hubby had a friend by to learn how to make glass beads. She has a big dog, apparently. As soon as she walked inside the house, Tansey took off to hide! She was still in hiding, behind the bathtub, when I got home. She followed me into the bedroom and crept under the bed and would NOT come out...even when I opened the first window of Spring for her.

She wouldn't come out until I brought an open can of Fancy Feast upstairs and lifted the bedskirt in several places, sticking the open can under the bed to tease her out (lol).

Poor little girl... big scary dog smell (lol) Her eyes were as big as dinner plates! Took her several hours to finally relax and spend time with us in the evening.

  4. Hi Sio & AV! I'm sure Nef will make a wonderful ring bearer! And poor Tansey - it's ok now.
A little late getting out the door today. It's easy to kiss hubby goodbye, but very hard to say goodbye to Leela. I try to pet her and she runs away, turns and gallops at me sideways with huge eyes that stare thru me. This could go on for a while; she hates it when I leave.
Shaddo visited me in a dream last night. He was with a bunch of cats. Didn't see Jiggs though, bummer. Hi Shaddo! Be nice to your brother!

  5. Hi everyone!
Nef will make a great ringbearer! That would be so cute to see.
Poor Tansey! extra loves and scritches to you.
awwww Shaddo, that was nice he came to visit. Maybe he was letting you know he is taking care of Mavvy for HM :)
Just cleaned up the kids after breakfast, now I have to corral them into Maddies room so I can take a shower. My days are so busy anymore. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Hugs!!

  6. Good Morning all! What a set up for brekkie. Please send me a pile of pancakes with warm maple syrup and some sausage links. Poor Tansey, what a scare. OMG, AV, are you or your son going to the wedding? If so, I want to see the pig in the wedding. Joan, i know how you feel, Betty gives me the same song and dance every morning. She throws herself on the floor in front of me. Then its the long, deep, drawn out whail so I pay attention to her. Then she cocks her head to the side and bats her whiskers. Finally, the last straw is when she throws herself up against the door out to the garage so I can't go out. After all she is seven pounds, how could I ever get around her? CM, so sorry you are so busy these days, those young girls keep you on yoru toes. Just talked with a friend who's boys are now 4 and 7 and she said she longs for those days when they "needed" her. Now she said they do their own thing and don't really need her and its hard. Your day is coming. Well, as expected, I am sore from working out yesterday and still have a sore throat. Guess I will "borrow" some salt from work, since I don't have any at home. Happy day to one and all!

  7. Ugh, I have to go to Paterson to take my notary renewal oath. That's like driving to the city for me. Dreading having to look for a place to park.

  8. Hi Everyone! It is foggy here, too, Siobhan! Hubs is on his way to Jersey. LOL on Nef being in the wedding party! Poor Tansey, she was traumatized!!! That's so neat about Shaddo coming to you in your dream, Joan :) Hope your sore throat feels better soon, MC...I am still battling a stomach bug. Enjoy those girls when they're little, CM, cos when they get bigger, their probs will be bigger also :0

  9. Hi everyone! I weighed the boys this morning and was shocked to see that Taco was up to just under ten pounds!!! I think his new diet is doing wonders for him. He also looks a bit darker in color on his back. Although the prescription food was keeping his tummy in line, I don't think it was letting him grow at all. The science diet for sensitive stomach's has made him put on a healthy weight so fast and his coat is so much shinier than it was on the prescription. I'm surprised and glad we decided to do it.

  10. Kath..feel better soon. Tummy bugs stink! Rest up and let Dr. Gizmo take care of you.
Gini, that is awesome news about Taco. Glad you switched the food too. :)

I do enjoy the girls most days but, there are days they drive me insane and I can't wait till they are older..lol

  11. CM I'm sorry the girls are driving you nuts. I know how it can be (one summer I was a nanny 50 hours a week for a family with 5 kids under the age of 5...ahhhhhhhhhhh). Just take some small breaks for air if you can. Maybe throw on a movie for the girls just to give yourself a tiny break to sit down and catch your breath

Posted 1 year ago by gini #

  12. OMG Gini, 5??? I would have ran away screaming..lol..if they would watch a full movie, life would be good. Abbie loves Monsters Inc, but doesn't sit through the whole thing. Maddie sometimes will watch a whole movie, but she always wants to play.
We just got done playing soccer/volleyball with a balloon.:) I do have Monsters Inc on too :)

  13. Hi Gini! LOL on kids! I remember when mine were little, there were some days I thought, boy I can't wait till they get a bit older....then they did, fast! And it was easier in some aspects, but the problems were bigger and different :))

  14. Good morning everyone!! Need a coffee fix, a big one, about the size of Texas would be great. Maybe an intravenous feed would be better.

  15. Drizzly & foggy greetings from M'waukee...feel like a big ol'cup of joe for I walked to work but still need to wake up & warm up! Mmmm a blueberry bagle with blueberry creme cheese to go with...never can have enough carbs with antioxidents as a back up! Waves to all with feel better wishes and hang in there hugs. Smoochies to the marmalade kit with my order... gotta go...W__k always gets in the way! Later...

  17. Thanks WWM that does the trick!

  18. CM it was nuts! a 4 year old, twin 2 year olds (ahh), 1 year old, and newborn. It was quite the summer I must say, haha.

  19. Morning, Everyone! *readjusts nursing cap to cute angel* Well, it isn't foggy here and the wind isn't quite as bad as yesterday, but it's already up to 20 mph. CCM, if you just go outside and hold out your arms, you could be in Midland in no time with this wind! Around here the saying is definitely true that if March comes in like a lion it goes out like a lamb, and visa verse. Problem is that March 1 was sort of neutral so we don't know what to expect.

I have a United Way allocation site visit today and will be visiting the battered women's shelter. I hope that they don't want to tell us sad stories because I just can't handle sad right now. And I hope they don't bombard us with budget information because I am horrible at that.

  20. Good morning, all! Hope everyone's having a good day. I'm still so sad for HM for her loss of Mavvy. I sure hope she comes back soon. I hope Huddy and Rocky are alright, too.

I'm just back from another morning swim and coffee (only a small, weak cup) at Panera afterwards. We swam for 45 minutes today but didn't really take any breaks like we did yesterday. I'm really liking starting out the day with a swim - it great exercise and relaxing, too.

  21. Hi GD! Relaxing is not the word I would use, but you're probably a better swimmer than I am :) And actually, when I stop trying to do the crawl and just goof around in the water doing my modified backstroke thing, it is relaxing and fun.

George was cute this morning, sitting right in Mr. K's suitcase (we're leaving for Phoenix tomorrow); he knows something's up. I'd take him with us if I could, but he'll be in good hands with Gini.

  22. Hi everyone! Ok, made it there and back for my notary renewal and only got lost trying to find route 80 on the way back. That's that for another 5 years!

Posted 1 year ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  23. Poor Georgie! But, yes, he'll have a great time with Gini.
Hope you two have a great time in Phoenix!

Growing up, I swam competively, but I haven't really done any swimming in almost 20 years so it's taking a while to get back. It's nice to swim without it being practice or timed or whatever it used to be at training. I find myself doing good thinking while I swim.
I do the back stroke, too. The breast stroke hurts my hip and the crawl for some reason bothers my hip more than the back stroke.

  24. Good job, Joan! Now you can relax for the rest of the day.

Posted 1 year ago by Kilroy #

  25. Phoenix? How fun..Have a good trip Kilroy. Wish I was going with you. I so love to travel.
    Yay Joan...5 more years :)
So glad you are enjoying your swimming GD.

I vacuumed the stairs earlier..I HATE that job. Especially with a 14 month old with you. Got it done with Maddie's help :) I even vacuumed upstairs too..I am so ready for spring. I want to throw out so much and just do a good spring cleaning!

Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

  26. Yep, TDK notary, at your service. The catch is you have to come to Jersey and meet Leela!

Posted 1 year ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  27. I soooo want to do some outside spring cleaning! There's still a good amount of snow, and starting Thursday it's supposed to rain through the weekend. Perhaps I'll do some indoor cleaning. The animal shelter is having a spring yard sale so I'll be donating lots of stuff!

Posted 1 year ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  28. Greetings all from an overcast AZ.

Kilroy - sure wish there was time to meet you while you are here. Just a super crazy time for me, and sounds like your conference will keep you quite busy.

Not familiar with Panera... but something sweet sounds good for today.

  29. CM, you should get Maddie a miniature vacuum cleaner and tell her it's to "play" with. Only she would really be vacuuming. You know - start her out early.

I used to swim with a group at noon when we lived in Farmington. We swam indoors until summer and then moved to the outdoor pool. The very last day the pool was open we would have the Pizza Relays. This was a very competitive group of swimmers and my first Pizza Relay was the first time that I realized you actually could go into oxygen debt while swimming. They were insane!

  30. WWM, we did get her a play vacuum, she uses the real dust buster. She likes that one. She gets it and even puts it back in the charger. She loves to help me clean. I let her get the crumbs and stuff.
