  1. Kitties are opening shop early tonite. They need help from their TDK family. Its TIME to decorate for St. Patrick's Day. The Grandpa Tuxie goes to the attic and drags down boxes of decorations marked "St Patrick's Day". Kitties open the boxes and squeal. There are green lights, decorations, streamers, tableclothes, flowers and yes, a St. Patricks Day tree. In honor of the night there is corned beef and cabbage along with green beer. For those of you not fond of that, its ok, there is a Tex Mex buffet. Make your own tacos, burritos, tamales, nachos, and taco salads. There are churros and fried ice cream for dessert. A fully stocked bar with a beautiful Meezer serving. Come join in on the fun, help the kits decorate or just supervise. All are welcome and loved!

  2. Hi MC!.... Abby and Cuddles (well, ok, maybe not Cuddles - she likes to "supervise") would be glad to help decorate!.....

had a long day a w**k, but fruitful!.... Son is home, so I'm in the middle of cooking a dinner, enough for 10 that will feed the three of us!... I swear his legs are hollow, and everything he eats falls out! LOL

... Daughter texted me today, she has her first "official" boyfriend!... she's so happy, and I'm glad for her!... she is a very self confident young woman, and thus far has been very "picky" about guys and such... of which I am very proud, she stands up for herself and demands that they treat her as they should!... good for her!... of course, she has a great example in Mr. AV!... he's a wonderful guy - it will be hard for any potential boyfriend to measure up to him!...

  3. ha ha ha! Men, especially college age ones, DO have hollow legs! Betty and Wilma would love help with the decorating. So glad your daughter has a boyfriend, I can only imagine what a wonderful young woman she is. If she is anything like mom, she's a keeper!

  4. Hey AV and MC! Funny you mention Mexican food, MC, I treated my Dad to lunch today at Fresco's--it was really good. Don't know if it's a national chain, or not, but it certainly hit the spot!

  6. Hi All, I'm having a good week first of all Sophie's growth turned out to be a cyst, then I found out yesterday that I have a good chance of getting some work this summer and then my brother-in-love took my car to be serviced and paid for it as a St Patrick's day present.

  7. Afternoon/evening all. Woohoo, the first 'official' boyfriend. Would love to see Mr AV's face when you tell him. Daddys can be very protective. AV, I think boys and hollow legs go together.

  8. Hi all!!
CTR, you have had a really good week!! What a nice Brother in love:)

  9. Yep, celebrating tonight the FOBF!..... I too had Mexican! Tacos are cheap, easy, and fill up those "hollow legs"!!! LOL

... Dad met BF during the Gasparilla Parade (according to daughter he was there)... but neither he nor I can remember which of the 40+ college ones that were there, was him! LOL... I told Daughter she had to text me a pic of him!

  10. I have just washed my floor and it has dried already. Time for me to 'wear' the girls old nappies(diapers) on my feet and give the floor a good buff.
Hi CM. See you later on the NS.

    Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  11. Ha ha MS, wearing the nappies! I am barking here like a dog, think I am gonna try to lay down and rest. Not sure how long that will last, up most of last night coughing and sneezing and blowing nose. If I can't sleep be back later. Until then, Auf Wiedersehen!

    Posted 1 year ago by mollycat71 #

  12. LOL MS! are you starting another night shift????!!!.....jk

Mr. AV also "buffs" the wood floors after mopping them- never thought about old nappies, but that would be a good idea!... he puts on socks and then steps on those "extra long" swifter things and does it!.... laughing (maybe scarily) that someone else thinks like him! LOL (that's actually a compliment :)

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  13. Hmmmm. . .

*writing down idea of buffing the floor w/socks and long Swiffer thingys*

This time next week, knock on wood, I'll have my own floor to buff!

Posted 1 year ago by FondaHonda #

  14. FH! it really does a great job!... *heres* to your floors being done by next week! I wish my bathrooms would be done already! LOL

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  15. Not only the floors, but the whole house, AV!! Can you believe it's already ready? I should close on Tuesday

Posted 1 year ago by FondaHonda #

  16. Puff, gasp. I wish there was something I could use to give the vinyl a shine after washing it. That was hard work for not much result.

  17. Hi all - just stopping in before lounging on the couch for a bit, then headed to bed. I'm donating all the green M&M's in my candy dish to the NS St. Patrick's party - plain and peanut!

Posted 1 year ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  18. FH! Long time coming!!! so happy for you!!!... Joan, I'll take some peanut M&Ms!!.... lol at saving the green ones!....
....one Easter when Daughter was about 2 or 3 we went to a church Easter egg hunt, and she "toddled" around with her little basket... I was chatting with the other young Moms... when all was said and done, she toddled over, and I looked in her basket, there was nothing but pink eggs!.. she had thrown out any other color, and only gathered the pink ones!... we still laugh about that today... she was selective even at a young age :)

  19. MS, what an image! I will have to get out Dakoda's nappies (as you say) and see how that work on my floor! Hi, Av, Joan, FH,CTR, and Molly, hope you all are well this evening.

  20. Hehe I can identify with Daughter. I was in an All Girl Drum & Bugle Corps in the 70s and our uniforms were pink. I still have the pink afghan my Mom croceted for me to take on the road. Leela sleeps on it now!

  23. Evening, MS, how are you tonight? Have you had that amazing storm yet or is it still headed your way?

I went into the shelter today to find we had our very own octomum -- a jet black cat called Mimi has had her kittens -- eight identical grey and black striped tabbies, so teeny tiny, I could probably pick up three or four in one hand at once.

Unfortunately we had 61 cats and kittens come in this week and only 4 go out (having found homes). The cat and kitten rooms, the shed (about the size of the cat and kitten room put together) and Iso are all overflowing. We already had an adoptathon a few weeks ago...

  24. Evening Jcat, 61 cats! Wow that's heaps. I see our local SPCA is having a 25% off 'sale' this week. They must have quite a few kitties in too.
We haven't had that storm yet, I think it will pass over East Cape and miss us. Did you get any of it? KK had it in Welly, her train was delayed running and then it was a slow trip home, probably checking the lines for branches etc on them. she had a report from miniKK that their sun umbrella and swan plant were t*ts up. ! !
http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/3441447/Wild-weather-blasts-central-New-Zealand There is a great picture of the storm over Kapiti Island just off shore from KK's home. Brilliant pictures.

  25. MS, the kitten season seemed to arrive late this year, maybe because of the weather.

Holy moley, DID we get the storm? It hit us just as I realised I had to go to the supermarket. Howling winds, driving rain, a whole lot of wuthering going on outside and then a nice hail storm just as I dashed out to the car.

Driving down to the supermarket, one side of the roundabout on the main street was blocked off by the fire engine and two ambulances and the firefighters were directing traffic. I didn't know what had happened till I got home and caught TV3 news where they said two trees had blown onto a car parked underneath them and somebody was trapped inside :( I haven't heard any more since. That's the main town square, cars are usually parked under those trees all the time.

  26. Adding to the overcrowding problems at the shelter, everyone in Iso is sick, all the cats and kittens I mean, they are all sneezing and snuffling their little heads off, big and small. The vet was scheduled to come today but he didn't, for some reason.

But most of the little darlings were still quite feisty, and wanted to play, even with streaming eyes and noses. So I pick up this little darling orangey boy, called Solo. Last week when I cuddled him he was all purrs and licks and headbutts. He was snuggling up under my chin and headbonking me continuously and then he thoughtfully clamped his jaws on my chin. I think he was interested to see what would happen or else he was just trying out his teeth. OWWWWWWWWWWWW! Luckily they didn't quite meet in the middle but I had two neat little slightly bloody wounds (one on and one under) my chin for the rest of the day

Anyway, today, Solo was all cuddles and purrs -- no chin clamping -- but as soon as I picked him up and settled him in my arms he opened his little mouth and sneezed right in my face - A'tishoo. His little orange face was about an inch from mine so I got well and truly sprayed. Little Solo, it's a good thing you're so cute...

  27. ROTFLMAO, so sorry but I couldn't help it. Ouch and ewwwwwwwww. Poor wee darlings. Shadz when she was so very sick as an 8 week old kitty with cat flu used to have very 'productive' sneezes. We kept well clear of her face then.
I hope the occupant of the car was all right when they got them out. It was quite a nasty sudden storm. as soon as I hear the temperature dropped 11C in 30 minutes I knew there must be a tornado somewhere is it and it looks like there was. The storm appears to have passed off the end of East Cape so we won't be getting it unless it takes a hard left turn.

  28. That IS a fantastic picture, MS, just a typical winter Wellington sky, with the steel grey storm rolling in from the sea...

Eek, glad I wasn't in town, I see it says they put Hutt Line and Wairarapa rail passengers on buses because of trees blown down on the line. I would NOT like to have gone over the Rimutakas in a bus in that wind, they're lucky the road was still open.

I hope the person in the car was all right too, and I hope I didn't know them :(

  29. Evening MS & Jcat :) Actually slept some this evening and may go back yet again, lol. Going to read the back posts and see what I have missed today.

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. KK was lucky to not be put on a bus too. I'm assuming she got home, she hasn't txtd back but I'm betting she was pleased to get home and forget to reply.
I'm waiting for HRH to come in for the night but I'm not holding my breath. we have Meegz and A-man here for the weekend, sorting out wedding things like hair,make-up, and last venue meeting. Meegz and I are taking time out tomorrow and going to the movies to see remember Me, which I know nothing about but apparently is has a great twist in the end that you don't see coming.
