  1. Happy Furday, I mean Friday. The breakfast is catered today, a full buffet of ANYTHING you want. The kits still need help decorating for St. Pat's Day and will look forward to some scritches and compliments when they are done. Hope your Furday goes well!

  2. Good morning! Glad it's Friday...it's been one very busy week! How are you feeling today, MC?
I'll be happy to compliment the kitties on their decorating. There are two tuxies in the corner who are covered with glitter whom I'll happily assist in brushing it out of their beautiful fur.

  3. I'm loving the orange kittens in the corner playing with the green feather boas! :-) Aren't they adorable?

    Happy Friday everyone!

  5. What a sight the cafe is today! Between the tuxies covered in glitter (they're loving LK's brushing) and those orangies, it's amazing that they've got the buffet table all set up for hoomans. I'm in the mood for scrambled eggs with taylor ham and cheddar and some fresh fruit.
It's Friday, yay! Headed into a stormy/windy/rainy weekend, boo!
Since Leela is extra feisty today, I'll send her thru the wormhole to help decorate.

  7. Still have this nasty cold which seems to get "nastier" everyday! I did purchase some Mucinex and man does that clean you out! Probably TOO much! But I am glad I am getting the yuck out and will be on the mend. My sisters are supposed to take me to the St. Patty's Day Parade tomorrow and see them dye the Chicago river GREEN (weather permitting).

  8. Really it works that well, I may just have to get some. I would love to not sound like I have a cold 24/7 when talking. Cool you have to take pictures of the Chicago river greening, MC.

  9. Friday mornin'greetings from almost pleasant M'waukee...it isn't as dreary and rain isn't s'posed to be around until tonight! I did walk to work for I need to continue the health routine as long as the weather permits! Luck o' the Irish look is appearing in the cafe...how fun! I've been lucky to be in Chi-town on St. Pattys when the river was green...pretty neat...they do M'waukees too but it isn't quite the celebration as Chicago/have fun MC! Waves to all to have a feel better and good end to the work week! I'll grab my java and some cinnamon raisin toast from the orangie with the green bow tie...later!

  10. Good morning all! Can't believe it's Friday again already, but I'm sure glad it is :)
Swam again this morning. We swam every day this week (so far 1000 meters per day which we'll increase next week). I'm taking tomorrow off from the pool to go to work and may or may not go Sunday.

Glad the Mucinex is helping you, MC - hopefully you'll be feeling much better soon!

  11. Top 'o the mornin' all!! So sorry to hear you're still battling that nasty cold, MC--I had one that lasted almost 6 weeks (sorry to tell you that!) But I think it turned into bronchitis because we were having such frigid weather at the time and I had to go out in it. I tried the Mucinex, too, but resorted to old fashioned nose drops in the end.

We usually get to see the "greening" of the river in Chicago on our local TV stations--it's quite the thing, isn't it?

And you're right, GD, can't believe it's Friday already! At least it's payday (though I don't go to work to get my check until tomorrow).

I'd like to put my order in for a couple of breakfast wraps with scrambled eggs and bacon, and any other stuff you want to throw in. Maybe some hashbrowns and a big tall orange juice. I'm hungry today because I couldn't eat all day yesterday because of a pain block I had scheduled for yesterday afternoon. But I had spaghetti and a salad when I got home.

  12. I've been making breakfast wraps more often these days. Scrambled eggs, cheese, whatever I have. A bit of salsa tastes very good in them. I wrap everything up and brown the wraps for a few minutes in the fry pan. Yum!

  13. Joan, do you brown the tortillas after you fill them? I usually just warm them in a large frying pan, then add the goodies afterward. Sometimes I get really crazy and add onions, mixed peppers, even sausage (instead of bacon, of course). Sort of a wrapped western omelet.

  14. Hi everyone!
    Mmmmmm breakfast wraps. Love them.
I also make a tortilla and put in peanut butter and roll it up. Quick and easy snack or lunch. Shredded beef with cheese and onion is good too .

  15. I could use some ham and eggs. I just had a big glass of milk and a protein bar for brekkie and I am a mite hungry now. Going to lunch with the girls so some Linguini with red clam sauce is calling my name! AND going to the K of C fish fry tonight! nom nom nom

  16. Yes, I do brown the tortillas after filling them. It's a nice variation from summer when we have cold wraps. They get nice and crispy. I toss peppers and onions in when I have them too!

  17. Stopping in for a mid-day warmer...I need my caffine nice & hot! KK a Friday Fish Fry sounds yummmers...they are especially around this time of year! I'll have to check out a local one tonite too! Hi Joan...all of this food talk is making me hungry!

  18. Well, Jeankit, after all, it IS the breakfast buffet, no? I'm getting hungry myself. I think it's time for a wrap of some kind.....

    Posted 1 year ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

  19. I'll bring some to the cafe tomorrow! I'll try to make more for Monday for those of you who are not here during the weekend. I'll make breakfast wraps and luncheon-type wraps.

  20. Hi everyone! Freezing cold, rainy day here in NY. I'm very sleepy and would LOVE to take a nap. Today I had a midterm in my sociology class. I think it went okay. I have two more midterms next week, and then another one in a month (which I find really weird...why is it so late?)

Nothing else too exciting going on here (besides cat sitting the wonderful George of course). Tonight Mike and I are going to see an Irish band play. They do not go on until 11:00 so it looks like it will be a late night (makes me want to nap even more!)

    TGIF!

  21. One of my co-workers is leaving and we had a little send off. Her immediate boss make cupcakes and OMG they were the worlds worst cupcakes...ever...in the history of cupcakes. I think her boxed mixes must have been stale. Yuk! I am going to have to get this taste out of my mouth. I don't really need the cupcake so I was glad its taste discouraged me from more than the first bite!

Last night I dreamed about a beautiful cake with white frosting and luscious deep red roses made out of buttercream frosting. It was a gorgeous cake in the dessert case and at a very fancy restaurant and in my dream, I was sad because I couldn't have any because of the sugar. I have brought that gorgeous cake to the cafe for anyone who needs an afternoon pick me up! Lets dig in! Dibs on a rose.

  26. Any cake left?
Honestly, it seems more trouble than it's worth to take a day off, sigh.
Oh, never mind - a cute orangie (who has a green feather tucked behind his ear) just gave me a piece - yum!
