  1. Kittehs are up and stretching. They are busy getting a buffet going with Joan's breakfast wraps. One kitteh is making a fresh batch of salsa. Another one is busy chopping fresh veggies to put inside. Another is shredding fresh cheeses. And yet another is frying bacon and sausage to put inside. There are other kits working on frying potatoes and making hashbrowns. A kitten slinks by and grabs a big pawful of freshly grated cheese and shoves it in his mouth and runs out the kitchen door! BAD kitten! LOL The kits hope Joan comes by and helps make the breakfast wraps with them. There is also fresh fruit and cereals for your pleasure. Happy Caturday!

  2. Morning MC. How are you feeling today? I hope you are better.
All is well here, I was up with Abbers every 3 hours..why who knows...so I am a little tired, but nothing I can't handle. I am waiting for the house to wake up and it will soon.
I need some hashbrowns, bacon, bacon, bacon and OJ:)
silly kitty taking the cheese...that's okay though, we still love our kitties!

  3. Still have my nasty cold. My sisters and I were going to go to the St. Pattys Day parade today and watch them dye the Chicago River green but it is pouring down rain. Not sure its gonna stop before 1030 though!

  7. It's cool but dry here, good rugby weather. Today it's Ireland v Wales and Scotland v England (the Calcutta Cup). I'll be glued to the tele from 2.00 pm for the Ireland match(the England match kicks off at 5.00 pm).

Tomorrow is Mothering Sunday, but darling daughter is in North Wales :-(. She has sent me a lovely card. I'll go to the rugby by myself then. I got her a ticket in case she made it home, but never mind...... It's the LV Cup semi-final and Sarries are playing Northampton. It's an away fixture.

  8. Good morning! Full morning at work. Then it's on to the Iowa Public Television studios to help with their "Festival" where people call in to pledge money for programming. There's going to be an in-studio guest this evening from Lawrence Welk shows, but I don't know who it is.
Polly's Mum, have a wonderful time watching rugby. Hope the team you're rooting for wins.
MC, I hope the weather cooperates for you to see the river dyed green. I've only seen the river after the dying and then only on TV.
Deb, I, too, enjoy coming to the cafe to see what's going on.
Have a good day to everyone who may have joined us while I was typing and to those coming into the cafe later!

  9. Doing just fine here, making bacon for breakfast sammie's and waiting to go to yard sales with Lynn. No plans other than that, when I get home will do a final vacuuming before Sarah gets here tonight and then starting my w***week once again.

Polly's_Mum, sounds like you a day all planned out with watching Rugby, enjoy!

LadyKat, Have fun with the pledge program, I too have only seen the river on tv after it was dyed.

  10. Morning all!..... Deb and PM, sounds like you both have nice days planned!... watching the tele and going to yard sales! two of my favorite activities!

LK, you are a dear for helping with those pledge programs, always for a good cause!....

... Hi CM and MC, has anyone heard from SM lately? I saw the question on the NS but didn't see an answer.... hope everyone has a good morning!

  11. Morning everyone!

PM and AZ I hope you both have fantastic days!

CM I'm sorry you got so little sleep :(

MC I hope you can kick that cold soon. Dying the river sounds so pretty :) I just looked up photos of all kinds of dyed rivers and it's beautiful. I wonder how much dye that takes!

LOI I hope you have fun; I wonder who the guest will be

AV I love yard sales!!! I haven't been to one in awhile but used to hound them when I was a kid. You find so many interesting things at them.

Not too much going on here. The concert last night was fun but we didn't get home until 1 in the morning and didn't wind down and fall asleep until 2. Now I'm really sleepy. It's still raining here but not as bad as yesterday. When I woke up today I was craving lunch (who really wants chicken on pasta at 8 in the morning?). I really want to see Alice in Wonderland soon but I can't bring myself to pay NYC prices. I think maybe I'll see it next weekend when I'm visiting my mom. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?

  12. Ireland are leading 16 - 6 and the second half is just starting. "Ireland, Ireland together standing tall. Shoulder to shoulder we'll answer Ireland's call!"

  13. Good Morning, a little nippy here. Rain or snow is in the air but nothing falling yet. I have to get the house cleaned, make cupcakes for the St Patty's party tomorrow and I have a meeting this afternoon about our youth ministries at the church of which I'm involved in.

  14. Hi everyone! I hope it's not too late for breakfast wraps. I just made some and they're yummy. Scrambled eggs, diced taylor ham, cheese and a bit of salsa. The tortillas are brown and hot and crispy. Served with a side of pineapple spears. Help yourself. If you've had brekkie, call it brunch!

  15. I'm about to eat afternoon tea - I think it will be bacon sandwiches.

    Ireland won YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

The Calcutta Cup starts in 30 minutes, Scotland v England at Murrayfield (Edinburgh).

  19. Hey Sandi, you can keep the snow on your side of the mtns please! We had 3 more inches on Wednesday, but it's looking like over 40 today, so hope it starts to melt. I'm so tired of having to wear boots all the time. What kind of cupcakes, something with a Patty's day theme? Hmmm..bacon sammies... PM, whose little tongue is peeking out?

  20. Good morning Family - the weather is gorgeous here. Just great for cleaning up in time for my Bro and SIL to get here - lol. I'll have two wraps please - fill 'em to the brim with bacon, eggs and cheese please. Oh and I'll take a couple of kittens to cuddle too.

Have a great day and weekend everyone.

Once again, thank you ALL for your kind words and encouragment for Mavvy. For those who didn't know, he had early stage kidney failure, but never acted sick a day in his life. I was very lucky he was with me for as long as he was. As I said earlier on FB, the sadness lingers but life will go on.

    Love you guys to PIECES

    xoxo

  21. Later, AV. Did some vacuuming, the dishes, and now putting chicken in the crockpot. We are having the weather you had a few days ago (a bit colder though). Want to do everything I can that requires electricity and water, just in case the power goes out. If it does, we will still be able to have a hot meal as I'll put the crockpot on the woodburner.

  22. It's Garbo's tongue, PJ. She was washing Pickle and being lazy didn't put her tools away when she had finished.

    Posted 1 year ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  23. Hi PJ, they keep telling us we need more moisture although I think it has been raining a lot. We certainly had a lot of ice this winter. I think I will make white cupcakes with green frosting and maybe green sugar. I could marble them using a little green coloring, too. Have to see what I feel like doing when I get there.

  24. It was a draw. 15 - 15, neither side played particularly well although England did show some flashes of ability. The Calcutta Cup stays with England because we won last year.

  25. HM, so glad you're posting again!
I still so sad about Mavvy, but glad he led a long and happy life with you.
I worry about Bob whose kidneys were affected by the contaminated food when he was a kitten. And I worry about the effect the phenobarbitol had on his liver for a year. I'm hopingv he'll be okay and stay healthy.

Just met Auntie Ellen and her daughter for a late lunch at our favorite sushi place and since I only slept 6 hours last night, I'm now going to attempt a nap. Hope the boys let me sleep!

if I type funny, or mis-spell things right now, it's because Abby is "fighting" with the computer in my lap!... lol..... she's saying "move that thing Mom, that's my spot!!

  27. Had a wonderful day going to yard sales, found quite a few treasures so all-in-all it was a good day.

Question, has anyone heard from SoxsMom or have I missed her being out of town or something?

Posted 1 year ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  28. Deb, I asked the same question yesterday!... where in the world in SM????

Posted 1 year ago by AV #

  29. AV, I had sent her an email a couple of days ago and haven't gotten a reply yet :( I know with the daughter's grad coming closer it may be hectic but still worried about her.

  30. Just checking in. I've been sleeping most of the week. Seems the last 6 weeks finally caught up with me. Hope everyone is okay. Prayers said daily/nightly for all here. I probably can't catch up on the whole week but I'll do my best.
