George was ecstatic when we got home, GD, although I could tell he was well taken care of (thanks again, Gini!!).
I wish I were a better swimmer, because I really like it, but I stink at it so it's not very good exercise.
MC, he has full range of motion in his shoulder and arm. It's the pain that is getting to him but it's the loss of strength that is scaring me. The PT called the neurologists office and they told him two weeks. We're hoping that Mr. WWM's orthopedic dr can get him in sooner. I know that it's important that he be seen like right away. But I don't know how to make that happen :-(

Hope everyone is heading into a wonderful week. I have a fire in the fireplace. I took the doors to doggie daycare this morning for grooming! They are beautiful. I got groceries--for over a week I have been so sick I want nothing. In the meantime daughter emptied pantry. Her father is lucky she cooked--although he can cook he is swamped under. Who takes a full load of college classes and works outragously long hours? I still have a 4.0 on my Masters! Daughter got a full ride scholarship--I can not begin to say how fortunate we are. Hubby still has a job--contract now--still preparing for the worse, but with the contract there will now be a severence package. 2 more months and graduation in May! Will have a full house it seems!
Oh, WWM, I'm so sorry Mr. WWM is having all that trouble with his arm :(
I hope he can get in with the doctor soon and he'll be on his way to recovery soon.
Aww, I'm glad Georgie was both well taken care of and happy to have you back home, Kilroy.
Scritches to Georgie.
Kilroy the more you swim the better you become. I used to be part fish--grew up around pools and a lake. Swam like a fish at a young age and was on the swimm team. Now I am considerably larger and do not swimm anyting like I used to, but I have been back in the water. Safest place to exercise--no stress on arthritic joints. I say if you like it, keep at it and I know you will get better. Working in the water is twice that of working on land. Try a water aerobics class--they are awesome!
Georgie says puuuurrrrrrrr - he loves scritches.
ETA: thanks for the encouraging words, SM. I keep trying but I get so frustrated.
I hope you're all better soon, SM, and that you can rest this week (it is this week that's spring break, right? I could be confused :) )
Oh, and does anyone know if 2P was in a hula festival this weekend? Mr. K and I took the light rail from Phoenix to Tempe and stumbled on the Arizona Aloha festival - all Hawaiian food, dancing etc. I know she said she was busy while I was in AZ, so I was wondering if it was that.
Swimming isn't easy to do for many--I have learned that the hard way. Wish I never left the water! Hubby is a land dweller though. It is Spring Break week. I am spring cleaning this week, but today I am trying to just stay put. I took care of the dogs, groceries, laundry, and dishes. I bet that 2P was there somewhere hulaing!
Good grief, SM; your "just staying put" sounds like anybody else's really full day. Please, please try to take it easy so you'll get better.
And swimming definitely isn't easy; it takes way more coordination than I have, but I'm going to keep trying.
My boss just told me I could leave half an hour early since I got in so crazy late/early this morning, so I'm going to disappear. Hope everyone has a good night.
I did everything I am doing today all before noon. I have an incredible friend that grooms. She was a teacher until she couldn't take the politics any longer. Now she is working with her family and so happy! So am I--my dogs love her. Each time Lissy gets groomed we are so thankful. With heart disease we didn't know what time she would have left. She is on her pillow in front of the fire--it took a lot out of her. I have a Teaser on my legs and Deuter is snuggled on the chair. With the cold and rain we are snuggling together and staying warm this afternoon.
Hi SM!!! I would love to snuggle by a fire. Aahhhh.... how nice!!! Glad you and the pets can enjoy it! It has been cold/rainy/nasty here too and it makes one think of a cozy fire and some good warm food. One can always dream..... So glad things are going well for your family, besides you being so sick of course. Many hugs to you my friend. Glad to see you posting again!
WWM, so sorry about Mr. WWM, I have re-habbed two ruptured discs through PT. (lots of traction, but the fact that I can walk today is a testement that it works) I would see about finding a different NS to see though. Two weeks is an awful long time to let it go. Rign now, I am having problems with C-6. Disc is fine, but vertebrae is out of alignment. I am off to the chiropractor for that for an adjustment and some sort of electric stim therapy. Discs are way more complicated. Sending prayers and white light!

Hi all!.... WWM, that just sucks monkey toes about Mr. WWM's hand!..... hope you get to the right doctor! and soon!
.... SM, so glad to see you, I've missed seeing you post lately, but of course, I work full time now, so I'm scarce myself!.... anyway glad to get updated on you!
Hi AV! Gosh Darn WWM, I wish you lived closer, I would get Mr. WWM sooner. All I have to do is pick up the phone, ask for the nurse and say "Hi this is Amy, the director of Rehab, I need to schedule a patient" and they usually get my patients right in! (Even if he wasn't one of our patients it wouldn't matter!)

AV work full time and school full time. I will finish my Masters in less than 12 months though--so it is worth it! Unfortunately I am a bit run down.
WWM please pester that doctor--Mr. WWM should not wait that long! Seems like a long time and mobility will deteriorate further.
Thanks, Everyone. It is all so complicated by living in a smaller community which translates to a smaller medical community. I have thought of going to San Antonio but I know that the wait there for him to be seen would be as bad, if not worse.
