  1. LOL, WWM! Sorry, but I had to laugh at parts of your story :))) I do hope the injection helps Mr. WWM and that your finger heals without incidence!!! Don't feel bad......a few years ago, I put a regular fork through the fleshy part of my finger, went in one side and out the other......how I did it, well, that is a story in itself that would only had to have been seen to be believed :)

  2. Ouch, Katthays!

  3. Gini, If that were me, I would have been thrilled to get that high on a math test :) You always do well, good luck on your next exam!

  4. Me, too Gini! I'm horrible at math. When I worked on a surgical unit out of nursing school I had to calculate the IV drip times because we didn't have IV pumps then. I have been known to physically threaten patients who messed with their IV's thereby requiring me to recalculate. I totally suck at math.

  5. OMG WWM, I'm laughing and horrified all at the same time (you do tell a good story). Owwwiee on the finger slicing. {{{WWM}}}

Crossing all available appendages and other body parts that Mr. WWM is on the road to recovery!

  6. mmmmm Deep fried WWM finger...add some bacon around it and it's tasty for sure :)

You do tell a good story WWM and I hope you recover soon and that the shot helps Mr. WWM!

((Gini)) 85 to me is still good but I can understand the frustration..

  7. Morning all!

GD your landlord really needs to look into that wiring before the building goes up--electrical issues are nothing to ignore. The person who stole your fridge deserves a swift kick--what a jerk!

Gini that is a bit picky! Go kick but in German!

WWM--we need to take kitchen gadgets from you! Shouldn't you visit the doctor?

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  8. Oh no, WWM! Your poor finger! I'm with SM - shouldn't you go see a doctor? Did Mr. WWM confiscate your new toy?
I hope the cortisone shot helps Mr. WWM and he's on the road to recovery.

Mi cheered me up about my fridge by napping on my stomach. He stayed for a while (actually he's still there), so I took a nap with him. It wasn't a very good nap because the phone kept ringing and now I have a headache. But Mi is cute :)

  9. GD, instead of complaing to the lanlord, complain to the city code officer. things will then get fixed at warp speed. and you can also mention the lack of heat. make an entire list. the landlord can't get back at you for complaining to the code officer...

  10. Mr. WWM asked me if we should go to the doctor but what could he have done? There's nothing to suture since I sliced the tip of my finger off. And I had a tetanus shot last November when I fell off of my bike and had to get 8 stitches. The only thing he could do would be to ask us how deep fried finger tastes, I guess. But I will watch for signs of infection.

*peruses Amazon for other sharp kitchen devices......*

  11. I am just a worry wart--you know that! Not to mention I watched Law and Order SVU--a girl cut with a knife died of MRSA. She didn't show signs until 48 hours later at the Grand Jury hearing and she keeled over and died in the hospital a few hours later. Then again MRSA is most often found in hospitals--so this is a no win for me!

Do we need to have an Amazon intervention by the way?

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  12. Nooo, no more devices for you, WWM!!!

Go peruse the thread with new Bobby/Milo pics I started because you complained only FB got to see them.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  13. See GD is seeing the need for intervention as well! At least she has a supplement for you desire to get sharp toys!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  14. Thanks MS ! I was watching that same SVU last night, but dozed off and missed why the girl died ! LOL

Back at work today.. still stuffy headed and barky, but back to work ! Used Robutussin DM and Vicks on the soles of my feet last night. Woke up coughing 2 hours after the cough meds... took a spoon full of honey and slept till the alarm went off.

  15. Uh-oh...... it didn't work, 2P???

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  16. Well... I guess it did... just not long enough or quick enough LOL

I have dress rehearsal tonight... so I will withhold the cough syrup until just before I leave for that. Then more at bed time. HAVE to have this gone before my trip !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  17. See you must have the cough syrup (or whiskey) and the honey! It was upsetting to see the girl die that way--Mini SM was there in wicked shape with a doctor saying if it entered the blood stream all bets were off. I know don't borrow trouble--but man it was a little close to home.

  18. Home! I think my midterm went alright. I think tonight we are going to have a late St Patty's Day celebration since we couldn't do anything fun yesterday. It's so beautiful out today. I was walking around in a t-shirt! I can't remember the last time I did that! The boys are both passed out on the couch.

Over the past few weeks Taco has been getting VERY upset if Mike and I don't wake up at the same time. If I wake up first because I have an early class and Mike is in bed, Taco gets furious and runs into the room, jumps on Mike and meows in his ear and makes bread on his face until he wakes up. On the mornings that Mike wakes up earlier to go to work at his 4 AM shifts, Taco will bolt into the room and pounce on me and lick my face and literally pull the blankets off of me with his paws until I pay attention to him. However, if Mike and I get up at the same time together he won't have anything to do with us and just pretends we aren't even out there! It's so weird

Posted 2 years ago by gini #

  19. That is weird, Gini (Taco! Stop that! Be nice!) Maybe he thinks there's something wrong with the person who isn't up?

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  20. Maybe, Kilroy. Before he started having an odd work schedule working 4 AM some days (causing him to wake up early) and till midnight other days (causing him to sleep in) it was VERY rare that we woke up at a different time. Maybe Taco just expects that when one person comes the other should too and he is worried. I never thought about it like that.

  21. Don't feel bad or clumsy, WWM, I did exactly the same thing three years ago (mandoline, sharp blade and errant finger). Eventually everything healed nicely, but the tip of that finger is still slightly numb. It's funny but Gizzy's Uncle asked me the same thing about the missing part but I recovered it before going on with the stir fry I was making. When I yelled for him to bring me some t/p to staunch the blood, he showed up with only one sheet. And then turned light tan (he has a thing about blood) and had to sit down.

Posted 2 years ago by GizzysAuntie #

  22. GA and WWM ALWAYS use the finger guard when using a Mandolin! That is what they are there for. If you are livin' la Vida Loca, then curl your knuckles up and hold the potato like you would a baseball for a knuckle ball!

    Posted 2 years ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  23. I have dried dog snot on my keys! Sherlock wanted to sniff the laptop!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  24. LOL, GA!

The guard on my new mandoline isn't very good and that's why I wasn't using it. But I think that next time I will! That is if Mr. WWM lets me near it......

    Eewwwww - Sherlock snot!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. May need to borrow your hazmat suit WWM! Dog just wants to sniff everything--well he is a hound so it is nature!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  26. Wow, it hasn't been a very good day for the littermates today! Hugs all around for all who need them and there appears to be many who do. GD, I have TWO extra mini dorm fridges. I wish I could drive one over and give it to you! I have heard a lot of bad things about the bank you mentioned. I hope you raised some cain.

Need your opinion. I was made an interesting offer today. I was offered the job of coach to a high school girls softball team. I am torn as whether to take it or not. Thoughts?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. Would your doctor authorize it? A ball to the head could be an issue.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  28. SM, we are thinking the same way! I really want to do it and think it would be an amazing experience but I do worry about my head!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  29. Do it MC!!! And wear a HELMET !!!
If you have the time, energy and want to do this... I say why not ?! You would be an awesome role model for young women !!!

Seriously.. check with your NS, see what he says and then do look for head protection.

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  30. Absolutely do it, MC! It could be a great experience for you!
