   My back is hurting a lot. The hospital still hasn't sent the results of my MRI to my doctor. I've taken a hydrocodone and it's making me sleepy, but it isn't cutting the pain. I'm only working half a day today. It's hard to sit in this chair in front of the computer. I'm supposed to be editing a long chapter that's due in less than 2 weeks, but I'm having trouble understanding it because I can't concentrate. I guess I'll fill in the references because the writing just isn't making sense now.

   I want to go home and lie down with a pillow under my knees and a kitty purring beside me.

   I wish you could go home. It is not productive to try and work through pain like that. Sending you healing white light!

   Prayers for you Leeny. Can't your doctor make another request for the MRI results? Is it the same doctor that ordered the MRI? Please take care and rest your back. May the pain slip away and may you rest comfortably.

   The doctor's office is calling the hospital for the results, but the doctor's office is closed today.

   Hopefully they will have answers by Monday. Please rest for the weekend and try to stay somewhat comfortable. I hope you have some help at home.

   Boss just called and asked how the chapter was coming. Told him what I was doing, and before I could tell him why, he told me about how much that would delay the chapter's progress. Then I told him that I can hardly sit up in this chair and, between the pain and the painkiller, the words just aren't making sense. He said he'd talk to me Monday, and that he hoped things got better--don't remember if he meant me or the work.

   D*** it, don't these people realize I'm doing all I can? It's either this or go home and do nothing! ***crying now***

   Please don't take his callous words personal--he isn't thinking clearly. He wants you to be better--you know he really does. How soon before you can go home and rest?

   Felt better enough to edit 7 pages; boss sent an e-mail saying he's glad I'm feeling better.

    Sending you some healing energy,Leeny. It's not good that you feel such pressure to work when you are unwell but I understand entirely - we all tend to be martyrs to our work at times. But...look after yourself. I hope you get good results on Monday.
