Sorry you're feeling cruddy. I had hayfever for many years but I found it responded well to various natural/herbal remedies. I didn't like the idea of using over the counter medication to get relief. I would recommend trying garlic & parsley tablets or horseradish tablets. They both worked great for me. And I have also used other more generic allergy relief tablets from health-food places. Give something like that a try.

Thank you i will go look .........I have to have the over the counter asthma inhalor ...or things will get ugly ..........but i will look into the more natural allergy relief ........ maybe that alone will help with the whole thing .....I really dont know what sets the asthma off ... I used to run 3-4 miles a day and was outside most of my life as i was raised in the NW ....Maybe it was the cool air ....

I found that I started to get an anaphylactic reaction to sulfites in wine - they would give me asthma. Sulfites are in lots of processed foods so check your diet also.

You might want to look at any sulfites in your diet JF. I have had asthma since I was a little child. I have 2 inhalers, one is preventative and my albuterol for rescue relief. Since moving to west I have to say I am a little better. But I do have problems if I drink red wine--I am a merlot lover so go figure! Also strawberries can do me in--although I eat a few every summer. There are tons of sulfites in processed food--almost anything canned and processed frozen foods too. I was suprised when I was told about a million foods to stay away from--things I liked.

My oldest son has asthma and when he was 6 months old he developed eczema but did not have asthma until we moved down to Florida when he was 5. He rarely uses an inhaler since we have been back in Colorado, although there have been some times when he would get a chest cold or bronchitis and then end up in the ER. He is now 25 and pays a bit more attention to his health, so problems are less often. He wants to move down to Florida, but knows that the change in climate will cause his asthma to act up.

Cigarette smoke usually gets me wheezing, as well as some perfumes, such as Obsession and Chaps. Other than that it doesn't bother me any more (I had shots for 10 years) unless I get a URI like I had in March---first time in 15 years I needed an inhaler. I take allegra 180 and Nasonex during allergy season (right now in AZ).
