  1. Just to let you all know that Marmite has been found safe and well a few streets away after 5 long days. She had obviously gone into the nearby woods and got disorientated and ended up in their garden. Lovely people saw her on their fence and their neighbour had told them about one of our posters. So she put her in a cat basket, and then walked up the roads to find a poster so she could get our number. words cannot describe how happy i am and how happy cat seems to be now she has eaten two and a half pouches of food!! purring next to me now, seems really tired from her antics. I just want to take this opportunity to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone on here who has been with me through this. You are all so lovely and supportive and your suggestions and virtual hugs have got me through this experience. words cannot express the importance of this site. furry hugs from Marmite to you all xxxxxxxx

  14. Thats my next question ha ha....How do i pluck up the courage to let her out again and what if she goes that far again?!! My husband says we should keep her in but that is not fair now she is used to going out

  15. {{{{Small}}}} {{{{Marmite}}}} What wonderful neighbors you have. Thank God she is safe!

  16. Hmmm, I would take her out on a harness/long leash. I take my kits out under my supervision but with just enough leeway but kept in the yard.

  17. My kitty was an outdoor rescued kitty, so was my cousins and both became indoor cats. They adapted just fine and lived past 18 years and 17 years. Since Marmite has already indicated that she likes to wander you may have to build an enclosed area for her outdoors, or maybe a microchip.

  18. Oh yes, a microchip would be a good thing (an indoor cat would be even better).

  22. I'm glad Marmite has been found. Such nice people to take the trouble to reunite you with your beloved kit. Outdoor cats can become indoors onlies. My Sam was an outdoor kitty but converted successfully to indoors (after a couple of weeks of argument and door pawing). After that, he was happy indoors with us and only went out into our completely enclosed courtyard and never without supervision.

  26. That is WONDERFUL news! She can be convinced of the wonders of the indoor life. It may take a little time and effort and maybe a few tantrums but it will be well worth it! A long and healthy and happy life to her!

  27. Small!!! I'm sooo glad to see this thread! My Leela is chipped and she's an indoor kitty - I just think it's worthwhile, seeing as how I panicked when one of my boys went off on an adventure.
Marmite, please don't wander off like that again - your mama worries and misses you.

  29. Doing the happy dance for Small & Marmite. Brilliant news. I've been checking back everyday just hoping to see this news. What a wonderful person to bring her back like that.

  30. You may find that Miss Marmite polices herself when/ if you let her outside again. My parents have a cat who had an adventure very similar to Marmite's, and he definitely learned from it. When they let him out again after his experience being lost for 2 nights he was much more cautious and rarely left the yard.
